Default new Lynx3D vs. old Lynx3D

I saw some news blurb about a "new" version of the Lynx3D radio, is this one out yet? If I want to get a Lynx3D, how can I be sure I'm getting the "new" version?

Can someone shed some light on what is different in the new version?

We have been shipping the "updated" Lynx 3D's for a few months now. The only changes are ball bearing support steering, a crystal access slot so you don't have to remove the module to change it and a new charcoal color that is lighter than the solid black of the older model.

Look for the lighter color and crystal slot to tell if it is the new version.

Mike,

Thanks for the info... I have to say I feel very comforable making a purchase from a company that takes the time and effort to stay in touch with customers like you folks do.

Is the Lynx3D/XXXtra combo in the stores yet?

Thanks

We have shipped a few so they should be. If not they will be soon!

Thanks for the good words!

Mike,

Thanks again, I live about 3 miles from Bruckner Hobbies, whom you mentioned in another thread. I'll check with them right away.

Since I an not certain what the Solid Black color looks like, compared to the Charcoal color, is there a difference in Serial Numbers, or some other way of determining this.

I would assume that since my LHS has the Combo in stock, it's probably new stock, and contains the Newest Version, but if it was an older Radio, could I return it to Hitec for an Updated one?

Thanks!

The Lynx3d/XXtra combo that I just got, seems to be charcoal grey, but theres no slot. Is that because I had a version with the Spectra module?

Darksied - Check out the bottom of where the module goes in. The slot is for the crystal, not the Spectra, unfortunately

TSR6: Yeah, I just noticed it now. That is unfortunate that its not for the Spectra!

You can make your own "Spectra" slot. I have radios with it done, and may accually try that in the future.

I thought about it, but I would hate to mess up that brand new look!!! Maybe after I've had it for a while!

Default Wondering if it is possible to get an updated 3D?

Hello,

I am wondering if it is possible to have my 3D updated to the latest spec? Is this possible? Let me know! Mainly I am interested in getting the BB support for the steering wheel. Is there someway I can purchase just the BB suport and radio housing?
Email me: [email protected].
Thanks
Shawn

Default I am sure it is not offered but I am looking for the case!

The guys in support gotta have a few of those radios sitting around broken that a person could salvage the case off of!
