Truthfully I would love if they condensed the classes a bit. I went last night and there were 10 classes. At 10:30 they had just finished the qualifiers. I race a Kyosho ultima sc 2wd with a 20t brushed motor in novice lol. A nice guy gave me some tires so I wasn't fish tailing like I was Saturday in novice oval. My servo died on 1st qualifier. Maybe one of these days ill be able to get past the 1st qualifier.

come see me saturday racer777 and I can point you in the direction of a really good servo. We have a few classes with maybe 3 drivers like 17.5 sc. 17.5 buggy seemed to split down the middle and many guy dropped to sportsman to podium more. to the classes were a little diluted. But there will still be a bunch of racer if travis condenses the classes. some people were racing sportsman and 17.5 buggy, do they will loose an entry. I sometimes ran ran buggy and 17.5 buggy. so again lost entries. but not many people were doing it and will will just have more than just the A main. But we should be able to finish a little sooner. Again, I heard this from a second party, Travis will need to communication his thinking and plans. Soon we will be going to night racing, so condensing makes sense. I imagine with the consolidation, the novice class will grow a little, lol.

I was looking at this servo because the stock servo I had was 80oz of torque and .22 speed.

I don't have a huge budget so just trying to get something that I can run with. For $15 it seems like a good deal and an upgrade to what I had. I won't be able to come out Saturday until after 6pm or so. I'll try to make it out later if I can.

I would get the solar d770 or the d771 if your using a 4x4 truck from hobbypartz if your truck is 2wd.

For what it's worth I am not a fan of running stock and mod together. Too many times last night I was running people over. I actually pulled off in the main so I didn't ruin anyone's race.

Unless of course theres just not enough than I get it and support it.

I believe that the sportsman class has diluted the traditional race mains structure. There should be seperate classes and based on your qualifying depicts what main you are in.

In mod most of us don't have a chance of beating the full factory guys but we still race them and we have fun and they make us faster.

No need to continue to recreate the wheel. Lets do what is proven to work.

Just my opinion.

the 17.5 guys will be able to boost. I ran my 17.5 boosted in mod and didnt feel like i was getting run over. Most guys wont be any faster with a lower turn motor anyway. I plan to slap in a 13.5 because its plenty of motor for HT, might even boost it a little.

It's not about the motor its about the class and the practice that goes into the 17.5 class. Running boosted defeats that entire purpose prepping for big races.

Yeah, you can still run 17.5 blinky and compete in club racing. I have seen 17.5 guys win in the mod class at club racing. Ht gives very little advantage to mod. They dont really have a mod line like ch did sometimes

Anyway, I will roll with the punches. If he combines it, I will likely never podium and take my 1 hobby buck and head home, lol. But either way I am fine with it. Nothing says anyone needs a mod motor or boost to compete in the combined class. The faster sponsored guys will still win no mater how much horse power you strap in and the less skilled drivers will only suffer with more power. We have 1 track and I just want to race, and try to be better than a below average as a club racer. Heck novices are turning more laps than me...

It says on the Fb that they rent slashes out for $10 a battery...do they let you rent those on race days? I might've done it just so I could finish the race lol.

for anyone going to cactus, I have a set of orange barcodes with aka red inserts mounted on 12mm hex. I forget which wheel. I will look when I get home. There were run for 1 heat at States. I would love to trade them for a set of M4 holeshots/green DD's/m4 tazers with aka red inserts mounted on tlr/avid wheels. I will bring them to the track with me until cactus, let me know.

I’m seriously thinking of driving down for some racing next weekend but have a few questions that most likely have been answered before in previous threads. Anyhoot let me ask anyways.

What time do you start and end up?

I have a Custom works Sprint car with a 4600 in it; do you have a class for them? I can put a 13.5 in if need be.

What tires work and any special set-ups needed?

Thanks
