Default Setup

Hey guys, I'm planning on racing stock sc10 on friday but have never been there to race. What's a good starting setup? ie.tires, shock oils, springs. I currently have the factory team setup on. Any help would be great and I look forward to meeting everyone friday.

not sure what you mean by "stock"
roar 17.5 and spec are the two classes we usually run.

i could be wrong, but i dont think you can run a factory team sc10 in short course "spec" class.

The "Factory Team" kit SC10 isn't legal in the spec class but if you mean the "Factory Team" setup on a regular SC10, you are ok. I run pretty much the standard setup with the following exceptions:

35WT shock oil in front
Traxxas Slash tires mounted backwards in rear (keep stock tires up front)
added 1oz weight on front bumper

If it is not a stock SCT out of the box then most likely you will have to run in the 17.5 class. For the Spec class you can not upgrade the shocks or cvds or ball diffs you have to run RTR tires.

ok, if I have to run the 17.5 class and I don't have a mod motor, what gearing would be close running a associated stock or HPI blitz motor?

HPI Blitz motor I run in my blitz and gear it at 19/88 so a 19/87 should work since both trucks tranny is 2.60

What a nice turnout on Friday. Really nice to see how Friday night racing at PS has taken off. Think I will try to make it down to race this Friday if the weather is going to be decent. SCT has blown up at PS this year thats for sure.

Just nice to see so many people racing and having fun at PS.

Track looked really good and the light watering each round really had the track setting up nicely for some fast racing.
