Our stuff is matched at 35 amps...

I have 1.20+ voltage at 380+ or 400+ runtimes......cell numbers are on the site....

www.teambrood.com

I have pretty much everything in stock, along with another batch coming in on friday....

For a 19turn 4 cell 12th scale, what kind of actual lap time differences would you see between a 1.18 volt pack and a 1.20 volt pack? Figure a relatively high grip somewhat technical track? The guy that won Cleveland in 19 turn 12th ran low low 11 sec laps here a month ago.

I'm running 2 year old 3300's @ 1.17 volt and my best lap time is a second off pace from this guy. I'm curious how much of that difference could be made up with better equipment?

I honestly don't think there would be much noticeable differerence, if at all. I think you would notice a big improvement however, over your 3300s. The 3800s have much lower IR.

Yeah, tough to tell.

All that extra power may just send you into the wall at the end of the straight. I always need a warm up lap or two after practicing with my 3300's then running the 3800's for qual and mains. THey are faster.

I think most experenced racers would be able to notice a slight difference between 1.18 and 1.20 packs.
Although I do agree, brand new1.18 or 1.20 3800 packs would be a huge step up in proformence, compared to 2 year old 3300's.

If you have say 100 Watts of motor power with 4.72V you would have 100W * (1.18 / 1.2 ) * (1.18 / 1.2) = 103.4 Watts`with 4.8V.
RPMs increase linear with Voltage so 100RPM would become 101.7RPMs

Looking only at the voltage power would increase with 3.4% en RPMs with 1.7%

You decide if this is worth big bucks or not

OTOH probably all new batteries will out-perform 2 year old GP3300's, so you will notice a difference but probably not due to the extra voltage. We are only talking about hundredth of volts.

As I'm new to the CE dyno and don't have too much time before the next race to read through the online info, I'd like to get input on the numbers I'm seeing for the following two motors. I'd also like help in understanding how I can read these numbers and choose the right rollout gearing, as well as any suggestions in spring tension changes. Feel free to PM me if necessary. Thanks!

Teamgp,

I'm assuming these test are run at 7.0volt, correct? If so, the numbers look pretty decent, but the torque seems to be down just a little on each motor. The power #'s are higher than any stock motor I've dyno'd. What brush and spring/fs are you using?

We have a flat shipping rate overseas of $15.....we have dealers all over the world, so you may check locally to see if you have a dealer nearby...I believe you do in Hunter Valley RC....

Raymrus, why a 16x2? Even the offroad guys don't run something that slow....is it a spec thing or something? If it is, then the center-cut stuff could work....but really for modified 1/12th you should be running 9-12 turns....and I would NOT use a center-cut.....runtime is too important in the that class, so you need to use a full blank armature to get the best efficiency.

Jasons56.....you can defintely feel more punch and top speed out of the new packs.....the questions are, can you take advantage of the additional speed? If yer hitting a lot of stuff, the extra .001 or whatever, is not gonna make a huge difference cause after a wreck or two, you have pretty much negated it....if yer running clean lines, then you will definetly be able to see better lap times.....the other big issue is care of your packs....you need to put for the effor to take care of your packs, cause if you don't properly care for them by using proper charging and discharging techinques.......the difference between your 3300 and the Ib3800 will be a lot more noticable than if say you already had a lower grade 3800 and jumped to the 1.20+ ones....

TeamGP.....torque looks like it could be a little higher, maybe go to a softer spring...see how that works.....the overall power looks good. As for gearing, not very good at it, I will get the guys to pop on here and let you know.....I got yer email, will respond today...

Monster stocks are back in stock....

@7v is correct and with 6 amp incremental steps. Both are the same +/-: 767/766, Purple/Purple (230/244 on spring dyno).

After finishing the p2k2, I had lost track of what I was doing and thought I was tuning my second p2k2. I didn't realize it was a monster, until after dynoing it. But I thought I'd ask you guys thoughts before changing anything.

EddieO, thanks!

I forgot to add that all the brushes have drilled faces similar to 769's on both motors.
