Thank you for the answer. I run blinky so it will make little difference between the two esc? There is a small to no price difference which do you recommend?

I have both and have run both in 17.5 blinky TC. I noticed absolutely no difference. I haven't verified but I would imagine the VXX is slightly heavier with the larger heat sink. Easily dealt with when balancing your car though. If I was buying new I would get the VXX. Only because it is the newer model. Who knows if they will continue to update the software on the VX? I'm sure they will for some time but you never know.

Do you have to have the programming box for blinky?

I believe it is in blinky out of the box. But without the programmer you can not make any changes at all. It's pretty much a requirement IMO. You WILL want one.

To everyone asking about the new speedo's and software please email everyone of the people below. They are the ones directly responsible for voting on the approvals after they pass the inspection. Which the inspection took place a few weeks ago and everything has passed. The people listed below have not followed through on their end of the process.

I am not sure why it takes so long for the EXCOM to vote and unfortunately that part is out of ORCA's control. The VXX has been on the market for 6 months but up until Jan 1 ROAR had no one to even do Speedo testing. Now they have someone who is probably one of the sharpest individuals around doing the testing which is great. He got them done in just a few days of taking the position with ROAR and the detail he goes through is unheard of.

Hi,
I have just installed a vx 1 cell speedo, the radio end points went in no problem. Following the instructions it says that when the program box is connected for the first time the screen displays loading as it transfers the settings across- How long does this normally take?? Or am I missing something.

Thanks

It should only take a few seconds...if its taking longer make sure you have the plug in the correct way. That will yield to a long "loading" if the wires are reversed...Don't ask how I know that. LOL

What is the comparison to the Orca 17.5 to the Killshot rpm/torque 17.5? Nobody at my track has an Orca to ask. What timing and fdr is good start?

We've got plenty of both at my track. I run on a 96x48 track. Gearing at 3.73 FDR and about 1.5mm past the last timing mark. All of the fast guys at my track have switched to ORCA ESC's and motors. I'd say the killshot motors are about as fast, but from what I have seen they are all ticking time bombs. Its not a matter of if it will go up in smoke it's when.

There is a 12.3 stock, 12.5 stock and a 12.5 mod (for mod motors). I'm just running the 12.5 stock that came in the motor. I'm curious how it would run with the 12.5 mod rotor though. But I've never tried it.

I don't think that a mod rotor would be roar legal. Would be fun though.
