I have bought a lot of used cars (thats an understatement)-and maybe I have no backbone-but if I get a great price and upon dissasembly I find a few not perfect things-like grityy diff, loud bearing or bearings that need oiledbadly-I live with it. USED is USED-is it not?

Again-lets keep this brief-but I am about done with selling stuff online!! You can PM me if you like to keep Jason's thread clean.
I just need to feel like I am not the only one getting screwed over and over lately...
Ray
I agree with you. I have bought a ton of used stuff on Ebay and R/C Tech. Never had any problems as I know used is used. I only want the item to be as described by the seller. If he says perfect/like new that is what I want to see, if he says great shape but not perfct then that is fine. I just want what is discribed. I never mind working on stuff I get to bring it to the level I like which for me is almost perfect if not more. When I buy used I end up putting mostly new stuff on it anyways.

Yes-managing expectations is a big part. I am sure I have glorified a thing or two in an effort to add bling to a boring sale-but I am always cognisant that it could come back and bite me in the behind. SO I try to be truthful. But it seems the days of caveat emptor have gone way to buyer the other extreme.

Its gotten so bad a few times I had to break it down. Like-buddy-you just bought a three month old car and with all the extras I paid $700. YOU just got it for $300.00 shipped. GO buy that one part-yourself-you just made a killing and I lost $400 in a matter of months. Now you want me to go buy the $2 part-pay shipping to me-and then pay shipping to you???

Of course I do it-I am not a jerk-I think 99% of people who have bought stuff from me are happy. Just lately its geting stupid.

Like the one race day old RC car I bought this summer-bearings were dry as a bone-he either didnt re-oil after taking shields off or the oil he used was too thin. Bearings started to seize one after another. The diff was not good-he had so much lube in them-I couldnt tighten them down enough to not slip. I rebuilt it. He was quite proud of his chassis prep-I didnt think it was that great.I never sent him an e-mail-never complained.

Now-dont get me wrong-if I forget to put in the manual or motor screws or the servo mounts, I send them out. OR-if they dont send them to me-I ask for them!! Its the "other Demands" that kill me.

Am I now beating a dead horse?

Thanks for the emotional support everyone-must be my time of the month.

Ray
