I am going to be runing 6s on my mmp and I was wondering if any one could tell me the limit of how hard I should push it. I only do speed runs so I will only be pushing it for a couple of seconds. I have read of someone putting 180 amps through it does any one have other experience with it

really depends on the variables.... way too many to base it off some inernet guess.... weight, setup, etc

I run 2s on an MMP and can consistently, overheat it

I run it in a heavy yeti on 3s. never gets above 105. I also run it in a Bomber on 4s again it never gets above 110. If the system is efficient it will run fine. I would not recommend 6s on a lil mmp

i just burnt it up going 95 mph in my slash 2wd. gonna need something that can handle 6s way better and put out more amps.

My dude you'll want an 1/8 scale ESC if you're gonna go that fast lol. No wonder the MMP blew up. I'd get the Mamba monster X or wait for the new Mamba X to release.

ya i kinda knew i was pushing it i sent it to castle to be fixed now i am going to put it in a veatta v100 and run 6s or 4s with 35 35 32 pitch gears it is a good 3 or 4 pounds less and tires are way smaller.

I think it is rated for 70amps continuous and 180 for burst. So it's a decent middle of the road esc

70 is Optimistic the original Mamba Monster was only 80

from memory the Mamba Max Pro was closer to 45-60A constant area.

It could very well be 60. I just remember being severely underwhelmed when I saw its rating a couple years back. And part of why I decided to wait for the Mamba X and sold my MMP.

This. The main reason we don't rate our controllers with amp ratings is if we rated our controllers like our competition does, the Max Pro would be a 160 amp controller and the Monster 2 would be a 240 amp controller. We don't feel comfortable labeling controllers with that high of an amp rating just to compete. Yes they will do that many amps, but they will overheat in 30 seconds at that level. Also without the current logging found on our newer controllers there wasn't really a good way to know what sort of amp rating you actually needed.

For drag racing and speed runs, I would recommend going one scale up in ESC size from your car's scale. So for 1/10 scale speed runs, I'd use a 1/8th scale ESC. For 1/8th scale speed runs, I'd use a 1/5th scale ESC. The same suggestion almost also applies to the motor. Running a 1/8th scale motor on higher voltages and gearing seems to survive much better than 1/10th scale motors. Traxxas Rustler with a sidewinder 8th/2200kv on 6s with nearly a 1/1 gearing will break 100mph easily but I've seen people struggle to get 85mph with 1/10 scale setups.
