Orion GP 4300 cells!
Team Orion have as the first ones announced the news from GP Batteries about their new GP4300 mAh Cells. The new Team Orion V-Max+RDS GP4300 has maximum runtime; very high voltage; very low IR. The best battery technology GP and Team Orion can offer at this moment. These batteries do not fade and have a very consistent high voltage discharge curve. Tested as the best battery for extensive high discharge conditions due to the enormous capacity.
Especially designed racing battery for 1/12 8m, 23t 8 m and any modified high current drain 5 minute motor class. Of course works great too in any other class. Great power and runtime if used with Team Orion V2 brushed technology.
Charge techniques and cycle life are similar to the GP3300/3700 series which guarantee outstanding quality and cycle life.

I remember after GP3700's came out, people were saying that there would be one last capacity increase before Li-Po's took over. Does this mean GP will try a Li-Po cell for RC cars?

Lets just face it. It isnt just the battery company's that are after your money. Lets look at the speedo makers and the car makers that bring out a kit every 6 months. Its a case of you pay your money and watch your product be out of date when it comes through your leter box.

i say screw lipo! lol with the way these cells are improving they might become better then lipo over time. also going lipo means you would have to change the geometry of your cars to even get them to work right and had a crap load of weight. lets just stick to these cells.
as for the war... well see i knew i was one of the smart ones i didnt jump all over the IBs. now of course IBs are great. but i knew Gp was going to have to shoot back if they wanted to say in the game so i sat back and watched. but the 4300s along with the 4200s WONT be ROAR legal. so for us hard core racers here in the US dont pay attension to these cells. you will trully not gain much at all. if ur a back yard basher and like not having to charge up as much then hey 4300 probably wont hurt. but i am pretty sure voltages are not changing with these cells over their 3800 and 3700 little brothers.
so if you race stock or 19t or some class like that i wouldnt even think about these cells. waste of money. your still going to get the voltage about the same as a 3700 or 3800. so i would rather keep what is legal and run those. dont worry the people that accually go out an buy these cells really wont have and advantage so dont stress and think you have to go out and buy more batteries. if u have 3800s or 3700s ur set.

Just been on the gp web. They make batteries for all sorts inc. mobile phones , emergency lighting , security devices , camera's , etc , etc ,and REMOTE CONTROL TOYS.

First Intellect pushed GP with 3600. Then GP slapped him with 3700.

wait you said "Lipos are lighter and your car should need little modification to fit in them" that is the exact opposite. in fact you have to do more. you have to add even MORE weight to meet the rules. which is more modification. also you have to get a new chassis to hold a lipo to get that lower CG. new chassis is more modification (in TC racing i mean). but not you agrue shape and chassis. by the time we see them in racing they will probably do something to change their current shape to make them fit even better then the bricks we see today. but there is still the weight issue.
curves of these newer cells are basically almost the best you can get. yes maybe a bit better would be nice and will happen. this will be by the increase mah the curve will accually get to the point were it accually a flat line for the whole 5 min you accually use them, then after the 5 min is over you will see the "dump" drop. also a true lipo high quality race pack is what?... $200 bucks you can get 3 top notch 3800s for that. also lipos arent the future unless the rules change because rules only allow 7.2v packs not 7.4. we will only see a switch to lipo if the volatge rule and weight rule go down. which may or may not happen in 2007... but who knows what we'll see.
but not to shoot down lipos. they are great. power and mah. but right now i just dont like them. not legal. not worth my time.
but back to the 4300... is anyoen using them at the novak race? that would be crazy. or maybe snowbirds?

Lighter is better, yes you may have to add weight, BUT you can put that weight where it will do the most good not adjust the car around a heavy battery pack. Even the real race car builders build under the weight limits so they can put the needed weight where they want it.
