Here are my opinions and observations on the new Sanyo3300HV.

The 3300HV is lower in capacity than the GP3300.

The average voltage is .003 - .005 higher at 30 amps compared to the GP3300.

The Actual IR is 0.3 higher than the GP3300.

This cell would of been a great cell if it wasn't for the GP3300 which in my opinion is the best NiMh produced so far.

The GP3300's look awesome on a Turbo 35, but feel flat when running. Any thoughts on this? Are you hearing this from other drivers? The run time is awesome, but no rip.

RB-Love ,
I found that also. But what we are doing now, is charging them at around 6-7amps. With an .05 cuttoff.

Hi Rob and Corey,

When you said "no rip" (= no punch???), are you comparing it with the old Sanyo 3000 HV or the new 3300HV?

Thanks in advance.

Keyence

RBlove: We sometimes hear about cells feeling flat but when we test cells on the track we look at lap times and so far the GP's have been every bit as fast upfront as any other cell and seem to finish faster.

We have tried them in stock , 19T and mod.

We have been using .05 peak detect for 6 cell packs and .03 for 4 cell with 6 amp charge.

One thing to note is that they are heavier than 3000's so you need to remove some weight when running them.

Last year we heard that the HV's felt flat but we used them to win many major races and this year we will be running the GP's.

Danny: thanks for sharing your experiences. I plan to get a fesh set of packs by December to replace my 3000HVs so im trying to get as much info on these new 3300s from GP and sanyo. Ive heard that overall the GPs still seem to the best cell around but i'm still keeping a close look at what the Sanyos have to offer since its only revently that people have actually started to race with them. I also cant help but think that there could be a possibility that the Sanyos will maybe get better as new production batches come out ...... but if between now and year end the testimonials still favor the GPs, then thats the way i'll go! hope you will continue testing and give us feedback. it would be very much appreciated!

..... i have one question, do the GPs hold up as well as the 3000HVs? one thing i liked about the HVs was that they were really tough cells (compared to panasonic SMH/UMH) and actually liked being charged more than once a day. do the GPs have that same "durability"? what about the Sanyo 3300HVs?

ROBORAT: Actually the GP seems to be the NiMh cell that keeps it's original specs the best out of any NiMh so far. We have used them 2 times per day with out any problems.

Danny/SMC: this is a stupid question but i'll ask it anyway. i know you've mentioned that the Powers and GPs are the same cell so does that mean that i can expect the EXACT same quality and performance out of the Powers cells? just wanna be sure coz these are the cells which will be available at our LHS. or should i take the extra effort to order GPs online?

Danny,

Just curious how you are telling your drivers how to charge the 33's? Right now I am at .05cutoff with 5.0amps. Some other trinity guys are going like .03 with 6-7amps.

Still haven't run my Sanyo 3300's yet. But I will Saturday and Sunday. Anyhow, I have a question, I noticed that my local hobby shop had some GP3300 awhile ago, but I was iffy on them because they had the lime green wrapping. Someone later mentioned to me that these were the first "batch" cells before the "new" shrink wrap came out. Now should these be avoided? Or am I just iffy because of the ugly, cheesy lime green wrap. Oh, and also, will these "first batch" cells be Roar legal once the 3300's are approved?? This would greatly be one of the main deciding factors in getting these cells. Anyhow, when is Panasonic gonna come out with one????

My Trinity matched pack has cheesy lime green wrapping which is covered over by the latest "also not too good looking" GP3300 wrapping!....no difference in the cells. GP rechargeable cells were ALL lime green before....

My GP's:

1.182
IR 14
5 amp
20 amp

I hope to have my Sanyo's soon.
