I'll I'm going to say about running a lot of motor is that the stock guys at most tracks run faster than mod. The best local drivers [where I am] can run a tenth or two faster fast lap but cannot do it consistently and still have better runs in stock than mod. These are all sponsored guys. If you're a really good driver you should be able to rail like a madman with a 13.5. I've only been on 1 track open enough to where you need more than that. A majority of the tracks that people seem to be on across the country do not have enough straights to necessitate a true mod motor. 6.5s and 8.5s should be left to the super experts and pros....in my opinion.

Well at that big race there was about a 15 foot double after a hairpin turn, a 17.5t in a heavy truck wouldn't even come close to clearing that. So yes there are instances where more motor is needed. I was barely clearing it with a 7.5. In a light buggy I was clearing it maybe 30% of the time. It was just a tough layout!

Looked these part numbers up and the front ones are 54mm long which I believe are like the short ones that originally came in the kits, while all the rear ones are 72 mm long. I was wanting to go with the longer ones all the way around like Ryan C. had on his at the ROAR Ntals.

He used rear springs all around? I wouldn't think they would fit very well...
Nothing on the setup sheet says that. Just says white springs front and rear and the fronts look like standard front springs. The 54mm springs are quite a bit longer than buggy front springs. 10mm to be exact.

Anyone running a shorty with double stick and no battery strap? How did it effect the truck?

What do the 52mm/72mm springs do differently? I'm curious to give them a try as I'm running Kyosho Gold F/R but the cost to do it was scary but been worth it. Love to try these springs since the price is a little more affordable.

They are longer than the buggy spring and wound differently.
I directly compare them to the Kyosho springs at a cheaper price!
They are worth looking into since they are so cheap!

I think the new truck springs are the same as the Kyosho springs. Its interesting because I use to be able to tell the difference simply because the AE springs are wound in the opposite direction. When you look at the new springs they are wound in the same direction and the spread between each coil is about the same.

Default Turf time

I've started to run my T5 on turf and am looking for some suspension help. I have a stock setup on it now besides 2 shims in the shocks to lower/limit travel. I'd like to get it to track flat around corners with very little roll. Any advice with shock setup that I should try to achieve this?

Not 100% sure but maybe a sway bar would help some.

Gray springs, 37.5 & 32.5 oil? Would stiffen it up, but I would be concerned about rolling it over. Here is Jesper Rasmussen's set up from Petit RC for carpet. He goes even heavier than that...

I switched from the Buggy springs to the 54/72 springs Gray front and Green rears and it made the biggest difference in a good way! I would say to do the switch

Lower the truck... I run a high bite clay track and lowered my truck to 26mm front 25mm rear
