I think you guys will really like the new X12 car. I ran mine at the IIC this past weekend. It was the first big race with it and only 3rd weekend with the production car. I was able to finish 2nd in 13.5 super stock with it and set fast lap in the main. I was able to start catching the leader at the end of the race but ran out of time and out of rear tires (I ran them too small and wore the left rear down due to the sweeper and car became harder to drive at the end of the main). It was my 3rd run on that set of tires and should have rotated them before the main.

This was the best driving 12th scale Ive had in a LONG LONG time and am more excited about it than anything!

Reviving an old forum user name here....

I got back into rc cars last year with a GT12. A few months ago I started racing 1/12 with a second hand X12 in 10.5 blinky, much more enjoyable than GT12. Last Friday I ran my newly built X12 2014. It went ok, but the setup lacked overall pace. With the cells across the chassis and the kit springs, there was too much under steer for my liking, even going to magenta fronts, to match the magenta rears. My typical tyre combo is double pink fronts, magenta rears, or magenta fronts with pink/ or yellow rears.

Springs are on their way, so hopefully I can get a better setup at this weekends national. My thoughts are harder side springs, possibly heavier oils.

I'd like to reduce weight by changing the steel axle for the graphite version.

I need to buy a second set of upper front suspension ball links, the first set are too sloppy for my liking but I'm not sure if it's becaused they got stretched when installing.

The shims are nice, but another one or two in the kit would be better, new front tyres mean too much ride height.

You had a heck of a car in Vegas! Just wondering why you would run the same tires three times at a national event? I don't run pan cars but the local guys that both made the A main in stock pretty much one run tires in stock 1/12th.

Because when the grip is super high like that new tires are terribly hard to drive the first 1-2 minutes of a run and I didnt want to throw those first couple of minutes away...especially in the main when you are actually racing heads up. It makes it easier to drive through the whole run. Everyone in the A main was on rerun tires. I just didnt pay attention and others did! LOL

Have you posted your set up EA? I built my X12 this weekend. Looking forward to running it, the build was excellent.

I just ordered the X12. Is there anything I need to concern myself with during the build? Suggestions to make things better?

Paul posted in his set up that he is using plastic pivot balls in the top and bottom of his front end.
