You should know me better than that.....I would never yell out 72. I prefer 27 band so it would be more like who's on blue...blue in the pits....

Yeah, ok. My bad. Next time I'll tell them about all the times you yelled out "Oneways!!!" when you actually had a spool in your car!

Default gearing

I'm currently running the Cyclone Black ver.
I also run 10.5 (novak) LRP sphere tc (the new one)!
My issue is with gearing. The track is approx. 140 ft long on the straight!
I am running the 16T pulleys still and have a FDR of 4.82.
It appears as though after the initial acceleration out od the corner the motor flatlines and runs a constant pace no acceleration. I was watching the TITC vidoes on youtube. It is quite obvious yes that they were running MOD however their cars have "continuous pull" along the straights. Looking at their cars also revealed that the relationship of the pinion and spur gear.

I am running a 93 Spur 47 pinion 64p would it be better running a Bigger spur and a smaller pinion?

The novak 10.5 isnt geared anything like the typical brushless modified motor. They are alllll torque, so they need to be geared really tall like that. Have you checked to see how hot the motor is getting??? Usually around 160 deg F is a happy zone with most of the motors.

We have some huge tracks out here and I have yet to gear a 10.5 past 5.1 You may be over geared. 5.2 is the normal sweet spot for a Novak 10.5 and a LRP speedo.

what settings are you running on your Sphere TC with 10.5? Also, I use Orion 4800 16C pack with my Novak 13.5 motor, my car is slower than the other guys...but they are running same gaering as me but use SMC 28C and Trackpower 25C packs...I think my 16C lipos just cant keep up

The temp was 140-150 F after a min run. So 5.2 is the sweet spot? is there any timing advancement on the motor and what profile setting are you using?

At the KO race I ran the Novak 10.5 with the timing cranked all the way up. The gear ratio we used was 5.2 and the straight was 160ft. It was good enough to make the show and my motor never got over 160. On smaller tracks I usually run between 5.4 and 5.6.

What pinion and spur were you using?

I had the rdx too and that car is real nice on carpet foam but the cyclone tc is more for rubber I tried to do the foam thing with the cyclone but it can't beat the rdx even with the the bmi chassis, but on rubber carpet or ashpalt you want the cyclone, just my opinion on both cars.
