I was wondering the same thing? Its been quite some time since its been mentioned. I run one now as my track runs ROAR. But it would be nice to know that I don't need to put the hobbywing back in if I go to a USVTA race. I keep it around as my backup. It is a great esc. I only switched because I like the data logging feature. It help me figure out that I wasn't getting 100% throttle and only charging my batts to 8.25v. Made a huge difference in lap times once I was able to sort those issues out.

Looking at Amain.com the Novak Edge is the only Novak product left. The RS Spec has been available for what 6 months now?

Also note the GTB3 and Tekin RS Spec are the same price at 130 dollars.

Do the USVTA guys run the BAND on the center of the motor (that aluminum ring), or is it ok to remove it? If ok to remove, can you use a heat sink on it?

I generally only run the "OUTLAW" VTA classes out here, haven't run a True VTA class, but I hope I'll get to before the end of the season...

Fans and external clip on heatsinks are allowed, but integral type heatsinks/fans including but not limited to those that require motor disassembly to mount are illegal.
Don't you have to disassemble the motor to get the sleeve off?

I'm going to put a sleeve with a 5.5 sticker on my car, just to be a jerk.

That is a modification and ur motor will be illegal

No modifications or optional parts allowed on motor can, endbell, stator, or rotor, other than the Boss #5925 Ballistic 540 Vented Endbell/Bearing Racing Upgrade Kit (replacement) .

Its is not approved because we are still waiting/being tested? Or is it not approved because it failed the testing process?

I bought a 25.5 stator from Novak and recycled some older stuff because cheapskate and repurpose.

Novak includes a 25.5 sticker for your sleeve. Not sure I put the sticker on. The sleeve is there.

That might be redundant

Default Novak GTB3 VTA legal?

I am trying to get into VTA and I bought a new GTB3. I was told this esc would be fine for VTA but I would like to be able to race anywhere since I travel a lot. Is this speedo VTA legal? I checked the official VTA rules and it only mentions GTB2.
