I just want to know if the mm ctx charger can do either or both of the following:

1. thermal cut off charging (whereby you set a temp, and the charger keeps going until that temp is reached regardless of the delta peak voltage)

2. can I set the charger to put 250mah into a pack, after the pack has been fully charged? (repeaking pack just before a race - regardless of the delta peak value)

Thanks,
Leonard.

Yes, the CM can perform both of those functions (both accessible in the same setup menu).
MuchMore refers to #1 as "TEMP CUT" and #2 as "CAPACITY CUT".

just to clarify... wouldn't the cell master cut-off EITHER at temp or delta-peak, how can we set it to peak ONLY at the temp setting?

There are two ways you can configure the charger for temperature-only charging:

1) You could set the long lockout to a setting higher than the charge time (such as 1hr). This will lock the battery against delta peak for the entire charge.

Or...

2) Set the delta peak to a really high value...such as 99. This delta peak will never be reached, so the battery will only cut off on temperature.

You can not do something about the fan, the fan is loud because it's a high RPM fan, in order to reduce the size of Cell Master(bigger heatsink = bigger unit) We have put faster fan to cool down the heatsink attached to FET. It is trade off for having smaller charger with a such a feature.

There are 2 step of RPM built in which is detected by temperature of heatsink. that's how we try to reduce the noise.

Noise will not bother you at the track but I woudn't say it's quite when you are using at home.

thanks

I plan to buy this charger and I want to know if it is possible to use the delay charge and long lockout at the same time.

Thanks in advance

You can set a lockout with the delay function on a linear charge this way:

Set up a linear CTX mode...for example (3800 batt):
-Step 1 2500mah 6.0A
-Step 2 3000mah 6.0A
-Step 3 5000mah 6.0A

The CTX has an automatic lockout programmed into the first two steps (so, for the first 3000mA of charge, the charger will lock against delta peak).

Then, you can just set the delay for this CTX mode (delay ranges from 1min up to around 18hours), and the lockout will automatically take effect while still having a linear charge .

The CM can't detect 1 or 2 mV, can it? Someone said it could, but I looked online and in the online manual, and it says it has zero, and then 3-99. Could you straighten this out for me?

Delta peak for CM is either Zero or 03 or higher.

at this setting, is it purely a linear charge?

YES.

100% same.

There is no break between 2nd-3rd step. It keeps charging.
