I worry shock socks will get buched up in the spring. I used them and kept having that problem so I took them off. I'm not sure if it made any difference I just didn't like it.

Help please,
Like some on here have said, the "Shock Sox" do bunch up, and after about two 5 minute qualifiers, they look like crap. I'd go with some plain old baloons. Also, use Mugen internal dust boots. They won't tear like the Jammin ones do.
I also use a surfboard wax on my shocks and suspension components- keeps dirt from clumping in the arms, between the shock and tower. etc- makes cleaning easy.

BTW, Tabushi- Most people re-build their shocks EVERY weekend. I do, at least, and most pro guys do. Sure, the oil may not be bad, but........

The std big bore dust covers work fine if you clean the felt on a regular basis.

Just for piece of mind. Offroad shocks are really worked hard- You never know if you've blown a bushing or bladder out, cut an o-ring, or if you've lost oil. I always clean and rebuild my shocks every week. Keeps the performance consistent.

2 months? Thats crazy. I take it you dont like a consistent car. My shocks oil is pretty bad after one raceday it must be mud after 2 months.

about rebuilding shocks, i've had awesome luck with using baloons to cover the shock shaft and haven't had dirty shock oil unless a baloon has ripped. this isn't just with my jammin shocks (only 1 race weekend on these) but with mayhem shocks as well (full season on these). all i've ever needed to do after a race weekend was add a little oil to the shock because a little has leaked out past the o-rings. but because it's covered by the baloon, no dirt gets in. i took apart my mayhem shocks 2 weeks ago after putting 3 race weekends on them, just adding a little oil after each weekend, and the oil that came out was still very clean. i'll put another race day or 2 on the jammin shocks and see how they fare. from what i've heard, they are a little better.

The Jammin shocks aren't the best I've seen- The o-rings and bladders hold up nicely though. One thing you may want to check, Adam, is the C-Clip retainer in the bottom of the shock. I blew one of those out every once in a while, and it just became a habit to check them after every race.

Ballons! Where ever did you get that idea? Been using them for over two years, I gave the $10 boots the boot.

Damo i went through a set in less than 1 season easily.
The front and centre front seemed to wear first though.
It's like the pin holders stretch around the pins.
Has anyone tried the new lightened universal shafts?

no, i like and have a consistent car. i don't rebuild them every weekend but i do remove them, thoroughly blow them off with high pressure water and an air hose, spray a little oil around the seals on the bottom, and then replace them. by the way, i race on a dusty track, so the dirt doesn't stick to your car that much. i used to rebuild my shocks about every 3 weeks, but i found that the oil was fine and the oil itself started to take its toll on the wallet too.

Has anyone tried the new lightened universal shafts?
man, i could snap those with my fingers! just get a set of standard Kyosho universals, they hold up better than the Jammin's.
