Hi.
I race schimizus for 2nd season on my F109 with F104 front and F104 tires all around. 573/575 works best here.
I am setting up my spare car which is F103, I have bought rear R1 tires, but unlike F104 version, they come up with full foam inserts, no air gap.
Did anyone try them with stock and thin inserts and can compare? I am worried about overheating.

also, will thin inserts help to R3 rears, when all I get from them is instant sqeeky oversteer even with F3 up front and hot weather?

I have always switched to the R1 hard which comes with the thin insert when i am at the point of overheating the softs.
I have never really had much luck getting the R3's to work either, the the R1 always has much more grip.

Just wondering what is the hardest compound Shimizu tires for f104?
572 - F104 Rear R1-Hard (1 pair) with inserts
575 - F104 Rear R1-Soft (1 pair) with inserts
578 - F104 Rear R3-Medium (1 pair) with inserts
579 - F104 Rear R3-Soft (1 pair) with inserts
I have tried the 572's but would like to try something harder for asphalt.
Actually I have just recent tried the Shimizu 571 and Ride R1 (premounted) combo and quite like it, is there a Shimizu tire that would be comparable to the Ride R1.

I run the 571/572 Pit's on asphalt and they work really well with one small mod. I CA the outside sidewall for the fronts only. 2-3 layers have worked for me.

Does the same apply to Fronts too?

Hi All,
Is there a way to remove the Shimizu's from your foam rims when they are worn out? I have a couple of sets with worn out rubber an I would like to recycle the rims if possible
Thanks
