I know your pain, the same thing happened to me but it was with the v one rr evo, I got the car and a week later the rrr came out, I wouldn't loose to much sleep over it, looks like just a top deck change to me. I'm sticking with the rrr the way it is.

Default bad experience - kfactory hardened pinions

hey team

i had a bad experience with the kfactory hardened pinions yesterday. i was only doing short bursts of throttle running in an engine in the street.

when i started to hear a clicking soundcoming form the gearbox. i found that the first gear pinion had cracked apart in between 2 teeth.

That's too bad. If you haven't had them for very long, maybe you can get a replacement. They claim, "You can use them for a very long time & don't need to worry about breakage. It lasts at least 3 times longer than other pinon gears." If a company is going to make statements like these, they really need to stand behind their products. If you decide to contact them, please let us know what their response is.

This is the product page for 16T gears:

Here is the contact page, which including email address for service.

The popular chassis replacement is the Kyosho Shimo version, part #VZW214. It's 7075 Aluminum, gunmetallic finish and the battery cover is non-removable (i.e. there is no battery cover). Robert Maestrey and a few other people said they really liked it. I'm going to get it as well.

I have one on it's way, I hope , and can't wait to get it installed and try it out. Since I run on a track that can get totally insane traction, I think it should be nice.

I would not be concerned about this. It appears to be an update and not a redesign. If any of the evo stuff ends up being better you can probably put it on your car. The car will not stay the same forever.

That's odd. K Factory has a good reputation for quality parts.

I hope they take care of it for you and maybe you just got a bad one.

Will the RRR WCE clutch components fit the Mugen MTX-3 Flywheel?

When should you lock the rear differential?

Thanks! I couldn't have done it without all of you. I'm still new at this. Good thing I know a little something about building Web pages.
