Notwithstanding this - I have asked this question on another forum, and the boring conclusion, come what may is the Mazda Speed 6 seems to be all things to all men so to speak.

If you are grip rolling try a titan mazda 6, and if u want more front bite try the ltc-r.

It's a shame u can't get the rayspeed honda - excellent handling - bit flimsy though and looked great

Could somebody tell me if Tamiya ORC Amemiya SGC-7 Body could use in all TCs, or just in IFS cars.

It works on a tt01e so I imagine it will fit any normal touring car

OK, sorry to kick this old one, but I feel my questions suit the topic. If not, please don't sue me...

Any better Tamiya Touring car shells? I am not allowed a Mazda in the Top Stock class I race in, in the Dutch Tamiya Cup. I see a lot of people in the European championships running a Honda NSX 2003 / 2005 body. And some run the newer Ebbro.

Another question; I race a TT-01r with TRF dampers and 25/55 gearing (tallest allowed) and a Carson Cup machine, which I googled to be a 23T brushed motor. Would it actually matter what body I race, at those 'speeds'? I would realy like a short wheelbase Porsche GT-something but I see nobody racing those.

That is for a good reason. I put a huge buggy wing on my RSR to keep it down (with a silvercan, no less). The chassis is the Tamiya 30th anniversary whatever (basically a short version of the TA05MS).

If you're really hellbent on using a Tamiya shell, try to find one that comes with the biggest wing. I guess that is one reason why the NSX in its various guises is so popular. You could also give the body a bit of rake.

Carson used to make a BMW 320i coupe shell that came with huge front spoiler and rear wing. Is that acceptable?

I found the "Carson 69013 BMW 320i Warsteiner" but it does not seem available anymore. Besides that I doubt Carson will be allowed, although they are part of Tamiya now (right?). I am also looking into their Group 5 bodies, I like the ugliness and they certainly have huge wings (they are huge wings...)

That's why most places did away with Tamiya Cup.

I think the body I was talking about is a Group 5 body.

I run only Tamiya bodies in GT racing, with 17.5
The lightweight Tamiya bodies are as good as any "Realistic GT body" available

For Outdoor racing even the normal weight Tamiya GT bodies are fantastic

It's an uphill battle if you want to compete with Global spec bodies using a realistic GT body though

performance wise would they be 1sec< difference? Im thinking maybe getting an Eastcoast body as backup since they're quite cheap.

I have used 3 different GT bodies in 21.5 that perform quite well to the TC bodies.

The first was a Tamiya Petronas Syntium Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3



I did trim down the large splitter on the front of the shell, and used a TC rear wing instead of the body supplied one.

Next is the HPI Greddy twin turbo 350Z



I used the included black plastic rear wing and gave good performance.

Am currently using a Protoform Camaro ZL1, and with the included wing it has a nice neutral feeling about it, one of my fellow club members also loves the body, and how it handles.



As for being as quick or slower against the TC body cars in 21.5, I believe 50% of the difference is between car setup, and driver skill, with the rest being tire choice, & equipment.
