Congrats to Martin on his bump up yesterday too, as well as Paul, Mike and others. I believe Martin's 1/8 experience is pretty limited, so that is a nice result. The same goes for Lemieux. Hopefully he can continue to move up today. These late rounds really get crowded with talent so it should be some great racing today. Even though the 1st half the event did not go as planned for many, it was fun to watch guys keep their racing alive yesterday with the bump ups. I know that Mike's week didn't end where he must have expected, but hopefully there was a lot learned about the new car this week to make him even tougher in events to come!

Congrats also to Scott and DJ making it to the quarters. It's cool to see fellow countrymen run well, even if it's with the wrong car.

Will - Thanks for the updates from the track too. I wish I could attend a few more of these, but I have to stay and work so Ralph can go play!

Got my RX8 about 10 days ago, build was Good, but a few missing parts and two of the alu shocker caps without the bleed hole marred an almost perfect build. Also note from XRay that the default shocker build is wrong in the instruction booklet as you get only 1 rubber O ring per shock for the bottom seals rather than the 2 per shock as shown on the instructions.

First run with the car last weekend at the local circuit was good with the out of the box set up, although clutch turned to dust even though the gap settings were as per instructions ( looking at the worlds seems this could be a common fault ? ) Replaced the clutch disk with a Serpent one modified to fit and seems to be working fine.

Gave the car its second run at the circuit today, going well until I clipped a curb took some air and launched it into the edging boards, not what I would say at high speed but it was enough to break the front left steering upright into two pieces ( snapped around the bearing carriers) and ripped the left rear upright ball joint mounting, seems the composite could be a bit on the hard/ brittle side perhaps ? Rebuilt with spares and back on the circuit all seems fine.

I previously ran a Shepherd Velox and feel for me that the RX8 is straight on the pace with that car performance wise. The standard setup sheet gives a very good point to start with the car feeling stable on the straights and very placeable through corners, maybe a small hint of power on understeer which Im sure can be dialled out with some track time to alter set up. Overall the RX8 is a pleasant straightforward design and its a dream to build because everything goes together with ease, with good tolerances and smooth free joints. Obviously as a new car then Im sure it has further developments and evolution to come to improve areas, and time will tell how durable the car is race after race.

The car only brings 4 o-rings, so the 2-oring per shock is just optional but you need to purchase the o-rings separately. Use the 1 oring setup because it gives you a much smoother shock feel.

I've had the pleasure of watching Paul grow up. He has always been a good guy.... he has grown in to one of the best pure r/c racers I know...still one of the nicest factory guys you'll ever meet. I've been around for 25 yrs and seen many races in my day. He will be back. Congrates to Paul and everyone that was there to help. Good job dude!!

Me and my friends here also burned the red clutch shoe, with manual settings.
The clutch disk you mentioned above, is it the red shoe or the alu disk behind the it?

Thanks in advance.
