Anyone who's been wanting a second pair of the aeration shocks, i sent a message to Rc market and apparently they are getting the shock kits in sometime this week and other parts (new blades, diff outdrives) later in december. Thought id pass this info onto everyone

Hi Guys,

I just got a used 417 and was wondering if you have any tips on how to set up the car correctly or a list of hop-ups needed.

I currently use a ta05 v2 and purchased the 417 in order to compete in the faster classes.

Currently, the 417 I have has a front spool and rear gear diff. The rest of the configuration is purely stock.

I usually run on an indoor asphalt track (med-large length) here in the philippines.

Pick up some DCJs and steel spool cups, some HPI springs, and an assortment of suspension blocks if you don't already have those. The car doesn't really need any hop ups, it's good to go!

Double jointed universals

The main changes are top and bottom deck and motor mount. The new 417v5 is very different, again with new top and bottom decks, all new bulkheads, shocks and more

He said he find it better than the X.

Mine's sitting there built, looking pretty, doing nothing. No racing here till mid January . It'll give me time to work on the new body and the F1, I suppose.

Not really a 417 question, but a Tamiya question. You know what I hate?! Building turnbuckles! No one told me about these Tamiya turnbuckle adjuster thingos. However, does anyone know the difference between the two? They both say 5mm. One says Tamiya, one say TRF. Tamiya is cheaper. TRF says suitable for reinfornced adjusters.

I have them both, the "tamiya" one fits the kit turnbuckles and the shock ball cups perfectly. The TRF one has a slightly larger hole that can fit a heavier duty/larger ball cup. Maybe the TRF one is aimed at off road (i have no clue if the off road kits have larger ball cups though).
Anyway, both should work fine however, the TRF one is the same colour as the rest of the TRF tools the tamiya one is a slightly different blue.
