Regardless, our track doesn't require ROAR approved motors, they abide by Texas EOS Rules which allow any Spec 21.5T motor
If you are fast, be prepared for people making a stink if you run the silver one at a major event vs the red one that was tested...

I know the red can trackstar is as fast or possibly faster than my orca tx. It is nice for $33

I got an e-mail from Hobby King earlier today and was digging around on their site. They have a little radiator and "water" pump, as well as a shroud/"motor mount" to make a 36mm motor "water-cooled". While an intriguing idea (that I just might have to try), I don't think that the indoor carpet track where I run would like it too much if I "holed a radiator" on their track.
Might have to buy one of those Turnigy Trackstar motors. While on the subject of motors, has anyone run the Speed Passion 1 cell 21.5 with a 2s battery? They are on sale for about the price of the Trackstar.

if jlfx says the trackstar is just as fast or faster then the ORCA then I would get that motor. ORCA has been what most of the "fast" guys have been using in the area and I know he has tested a lot of motors and is fast himself. Just because he said this, I might just get one to try it out. For less then $40 shipped... That is a hell of a deal.

I can't speak for that specific motor, but I recently bought some SP 25.5T motors to test as a potential spec motor in a proposed M12 class at our local club. The motors seem to be fairly weak when compared to traditional VTA motors, we're thinking that maybe it's because the stock motor is limited to 10° of timing, there are upgradable cards to get higher timing but that defeats the purpose for a budget level motor in the $40 range.

Regardless, I kinda like the slower speeds myself just for having longer lasting tires and less likely to break parts in a crash.. I hope

**** EDIT *****

Has anyone seen the new Savox motors? I couldn't help but notice they are 3 Pole motors... what's up with that???

It could be and editorial error from their marketing folks. They probably got confused with the design. For our RC cars, it's usually one of two: 3-phase 2-pole (one north/south pair of electromagnet coils per phase) or 3-phase 4-pole (two north/south pairs of coils per phase).

The SP 1 Cell motor will work fine on 2cell packs. The 1 Cell motors were changed to work better on 1 cell but will work fine on 2cell also. You would want to get a +40 deg sensor board if you wanted to run that motor to get more out of it.

I bet you're right RJ, I've stopped counting on Savox long ago anyway...

Thanks for the clarification!

Dangit man. Would you know I just glued my tires on last night. Ugh. Guess I'll just wait for these to wear out. Those rims look awesome.

Those black SpeedMind wheels bear a distinct resemblance to the Exotek wheels.
