non yokomo wheel conversion
I heard somebody say in a video that somebody makes a kit that gives the ability to run different wheels? is this true? does anybody have the website?

TN Racing have a kit to use traditional offset rims. With it you keep the yokomo axle. I can't say if this kit has been updated for the C3 kits.

Yes, that is an option. However, as IgorR stated, you must run the R12 series axles. The C3, C3.1 use axles that are different to the older R12 series..
I did just purchase an IRS2136BL axle assembly.

Over the past weekend was the preliminary (qualification) race for the JMRCA 1/12th Japan Nationals.
The race was held at the always amazing K-Stadium circuit in Kurume, Fukuoka. This track is home to some of the fastest stock classes racers in all of Kyushu prefecture, and probably all of Japan. At the end of the day, I ended up qualifying in 9th position in my region. I think this is a decent result considering I haven't raced 1/12th carpet for a little over 6 months. That said, I still have a lot more work to do my setup and driving skills.
I'll post my carpet setup soon.
This time around I decided to run the Yokomo X-Shock over the Team Prime, because Morotech now offers different springs rates for this damper.
The X-Shock combined with the Morotech Red spring was the ticket.

Good job ED! BTW...looking at the pic, it looks like you are using 84P gears? I thought they weren't available yet for purchase.

Another thing I forgot to mention.
A lot of modified (and probably stock drivers) drivers in Japan are using the Yokomo front suspension. However, they are doing away with the anti-roll bar on the front. They are also using camber in the range of -2~ - 3.0 degrees of front camber. The servo position has now been moved to the front.
All these changes have improved the R12's overall handing. Give it a try.
The picture below is from Murai Masayuki's Facebook page. I'm not 100% sure that is his car. Usually he runs all Yokomo gear, however, there are multiple manufactures built into this car.

I was curious to know if there was any weight savings when running the IRS unit.
As it stands, my Team Bomber R12 weighs in at 740 grams. Not bad, but for stock racing you need to be right at or very close to 730 grams.
I've already done a few things to shave some weight off the stock Yokomo chassis. However, I didn't expect to shave 8 grams off by changing the axle alone. This is great for many reasons, by switching out the Yokomo unit for the IRS unit, I have reduced, overall chassis weight, rotational weight, and sprung weight. As an added bonus, I can use non-Yokomo wheels.

Can you run the CRC 72 spur with the 3/32nd balls? That might also save you a little bit more weight and rotational mass. It was apart of my weight saving program on my RR12. It was a pig at 750+grams. I switched out a ton of screws to aluminum, cut off 10mm from my power and motor wires. Switched my 4 cap down to a 3 cap on my esc. Then I switched my amb transponder to my caseless amb transponder. That put me right at 730 grams.
Is the IRS axle a direct fit onto the Yok? Or are you running a Team Bomber rear pod?
