Default Help

I new to the forum and had a quick question from the expert before I tear my car down to find the problem. I have a XXXS with the novak brushless system. All was find until got home yesterday slapped a battery pack and tried to run the car but a horrible grinding sounds started. Low speed and high speed(sounds louder). sounds seems to be coming from the rear end. I am not sure what the deal is and some advice before I start tearing everthing. Where should I start.

thanks
great forum

sloshedmr_bones

Here are some pictures of my Losi XXX-S with my recent Mamba max 7700 system.

Great stuff ! 20 runs and no problem (no temp shutdown). I'm pretty impressed with the handling of the car.

Have fun with yours.

Cheers.

Thanx Blin. Glad someone can help me on here. I like the way you have yours done it very clean. You wouldn't happen to know about hop ups for the car would you? I want to run purple on the car but no one besides hpi makes anything. I was planning on purple hpi cvds, turnbuckles, wheel nuts, and a purple aluminum battery strap that is off set. One other thing do you have a problem with your motor hitting the ground when you drive? Thanx again.

sloshedmr_bones: On my XXX-S my motor scraped against the ground, when there was a bump, or when i went over the orange dots my local track uses. Doesnt hurt it. Does it because it sits so low.

Blin: One thing I'd suggest to you. Change the fan that you have on there. The E3 racing does nothing. Not powerful enough to run. The heatsinks that they make are nice, just get a different fan, more powerful.

TL XXX-S Racer,

Thanks for the piece of advice. I'll try another fan.

Sloshedmr bones,

Sorry but I have no idea about the hop-ups you're looking for.

I protect the motor because I run mostly on a parking with some bumps and little stones. The motor is a 550 (not a 540) size (I think). So it seats a little lower and is a little more exposed to those bumps and stones.

But my "protection'' is not heavy : just three layers of tape. 20 runs and no hit in the motor. I plan to use a piece of lexan in the future.

Well, on carpet or on track asphalt, I think this protection is not needed.

Cheers.

Well i found out that hpi parts will not work for everyones information, you can make them work but theres no point. Now my question is does anyone make aluminum parts for the xxx-s. I had to change my idea and now i am gonna do neon yellow and aluminum. Looking for turnbuckles, shocks, wheel nuts, hubs, steering servo arms, screws, anything that is shiny. website urls would be helpful. Thanx

Default How to add weight with a carbon 3200 li-po ?

Hi guys,

I've just bought a Team Orion Carbon 3200 Li-po battery. Great runs to come with my Mamba Max 7700 combo... well I guess.

Here is my question : any idea to make housemade weights to balance the car ?

Thanks for your answers.

Cheers.

Default How much weights to balance the car with a 3200 Lipo ?

Faiz,

Thanks for the piece of advice.

Well, I went to the rc hobby store this afternoon. I bought a lot of weights (200 gr for my Losi XXX-S and 200 gr for my T1 FK'05) for a few bucks.

I've got another question : how much weights do I have to add to balance the car ? What is the weight difference between 3300 and 3700 Nimh and 3200 carbon lipo ?

Thanks for the answers.

Cheers.
