Gearing will depend on motor size, esc, soil, etc..64p gears will not work...the spur is 48p, you will have to get a pinion in that size.

Any gearing recommendations. I,m running a 13.5 motor and a hobby king esc, (which is capable of going down to a 5.5t). I know that there are only 3 spur gears to choose from.

If you can use boost on that 13.5 (mech or electronic) then go with a 83 to 78 spur with 20 to 24 pinions... If no boost then I would go with a 76 at least. And yeah, you got many choices for spurs. RW spurs for cat and cougar work as well as specific dex210 ones.

Speedtech carries the schumacher cat and cougar spurs but they are sadly out of stock.

Thanks.

So a 22t pinion will work well with the 83 spur?

How about springs? I want to buy a couple of pairs fr/rr to carry around for fine tuning instead of buying the whole spring set.

Thanks for the link to the spurs. I was wondering where to get RW parts.

Yep should be plenty with a 7.5. Used to run a tekin 7.5 long back. Springs if you badly need are dark blue rears. The stock fronts are fine, in fact they are a bit harder for my tastes so I went light green in front. Try this chart out

https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=h...BoreSpring.pdf

If you need to in a pinch, the losi springs work well with the rangos. I have a bunch bought from my lhs. Used front/rear oranges now from losi. The weights are in the above charts. I always carry a printout to the track. Try Raul's setup for RM4 with losi springs if you guys want.

The kit specific either has the balls and stuff for $80 and the ones I just saw come in pairs for $24 for only 2, I saw the b4 punisher for $26 for all 6 so I was just curious if anyone has tried it. Looks like I am, if I have to trim it down a 1/4" no biggie.

Awesome, thanks for the chart!!

How about closed cell foams, which is the most consistent: AKA, PL, or JC?

When running cc foams we use the AKA in JC and Panther tires, but prefer the Pro Line cc foams in Pro Line tires- they just seem to fit better. Also like to use Trinity Bomb One foams quite often. Almost always use a cut down rear open cell foam for front tires on our cars.

Anyone ever seen a tutorial about trimming the open cell foams for front tires. And what the result in performance should be.

I like to use AKA foams but recently tried the new JC profiled foams. Amazing! The list them as medium but seem to be softer than AKA's. They are a little flatter so they would work in Suburbs/Barcodes/Hybrids.

Just picked up a set of front Barcodes gold with Proline CC inserts for indoor clay.
What are you guys doing for venting? Holes on the tires? wheel? how many holes, etc....

Thanks

+1 on the new JConcepts Rear Foams. Once broken in, so nice and consistent. For Fronts I still preffer Pro-Line CC. For Tires Jconcepts V1 Bar Codes rear, and Bar Codes front seem the ticket at the tracks I race on (medium to high bite indoor clay). Your milage may vary.

Let me know how much scoot you got out of a 10.5 and your gearing. This car Desperately needs a mod in it. It's plenty fast in stock with the 69,33 combo I have in it, but the Reedy Sonic comes off at 130 degrees max, endbell timing maxed out. I need something faster and I think for me a 10.5 or 9.5 would be the sweet spot. We cannot run timing for club races (ROAR Rules at OC/RC and West Coast RC).
