Durango DEX210 Thread

Hi guys.
I am running a gear diff on my v2 and it leaks after every rebuild.
My question is, is it ok if i were to apply a duct tape over it to stop the leakage? Or maybe apply some silicone sealant? Would it have any adverse affect?

Where exaktly does it leaking?
You can sand the diff housing with some 600-1000 sandpaper laying on a flat surface and try the purple, or blue 3x2 TD o-rings, instead of the stock red one, this schould help and Will give you a leakfree diff.
I've used a thin bead of blue rtv gasket sealant on gear diffs before. Works pretty well and cleans up pretty easy when it's time to change diff fluid.
If it's coming from the outdrive you can use the TD330612 o-rings to seal it up.
Hey guys the Durango gear diff assembly blog does not mention shims. It is feeling tight, do I omit them?

Just make sure, you dont have to much oil in the diff, that makes it feel tight, too and it force leeking!
Thank you. I was unclear. I mean the shims on the out drives going into the gearbox bearings.

Yea i only noticed that actually with the Gear diff in this buggy there is a tight spot right in the middle when you turn the spur gear . I may try with only one shim on both sides or none ?

Thanks guys. The truth is I was planning to use as much TD parts as possible. I bought a used kit on here and it wasn't anywhere near what I expected, so I just ordered another kit. I figured I had the gold parts, so I slapped em on. I've yet to run the car so I can't really comment on if one's better than the other. Honestly I thought about removing them all and just using all kit parts. The gold is a little too much flash for me
