I would highly encourage people to NOT use those motor coolers. We had dozens of motors go bad at our track a couple summers ago and we finally determined it was these motor coolers that was causing the problem. Not sure if it was causing condensation in the motors or what but once everyone stopped using them the motor failures went away.

Your best bet is just to gear correctly and monitor the temperature. Small fans placed behind the motor do wonders to keep it cool. I would just stay away from the motor chillers.

The motor coolers like the muchmore cooler/chiller and people using canned air upside down on motors prior to running them to have them start off cooler. We found to be the cause of motors failing. This was on an outdoor track. So our only guess was perhaps the difference in temperature was causing condensation in the motors and causing them to fry. Once everyone stopped doing that then no more fried motors. It was counterintuitive so it took a while to figure out.

Interesting.. I have never seen a failure using one of these.. but I did mostly use it indoors. You are in Ohio though.. how hot was it outside when you guys saw these failures? Was this in brushless motors or brushed motors?

Looks like that motor cooler is really weird.
Maybe i will not use it, due i am racing in warmy and humid asian weather condition.

Yeah, our guess is the cooling of the motor (these things can put a frost on your motor) then the rapid warming of them from running them seemed to cause something to go wrong in the motor and they would fry on us.

For my fellow Europeans, looks like the first batches hit the Ebay stores in Germany for 219 Euros.
US price that I've found so far is 240 $ = 175 Euros
But it looks like the US stores are already waiting on the 2nd batch since
the 1st batch went to the pre-orders.

timing inserts
just abit confused about changing timing on the x12 motors.
dont have one yet, but I hear you need to change inserts or something to change timing. Whats the deal with that?
do all the inserts come with the motor as standard?

My question is... if you want the 3 dot insert... should the dots be visible from outside the motor or inside the motor? Depending on which insert you use, this could flip the timing the opposite direction.
I installed my timing insert so the dots were visible outside the backplate. I just havent run it since i made the change.

has anyone run this combo in the 21.5 motor? if so what were your findings, fdr and speedy settings ect? Cheers.
