Thanks, I know there must be numerous ways to do it. This way with the fan pointing towards the endbell on end is optimum for cooling.

I know this is the x-ray t1 forum, but I'm assuming that it's ok to talk about any of the other t1 class cars (t1 raycer, t1 evo2). I'm going to get a x-ray t1R to replace my old beat up tc3 that's in need of almost everything new. I'm wondering which extra parts I should also get? Could someone just list off some parts (mabey with parts numbers too?) that they thing I will need. I will be running 19t foams with the car.
Will I be able to use my tc3 springs with the x-ray shocks? And is the optional pulley set that alters the internal gear ratio necessary to be competetive? Thanks for any help!

The Evo2 is definetly better, but the T1R is still a very capable car.

The only necessary modifications that one should make would be the 1.77 pullies, everything else is pretty good.

It's still a different handling car despite all the hop ups you put on the T1R. Keep in mind that a plastic hub and a graphite plate act differently at various temp ranges.

I'm guessing there's somebody here that knows what parts break often on the t1r, and what parts need to be replaced.

Arms ... Front and Rear, Castor Blocks, Steering Blocks, Rear Carriers, Front Bumper Upper Plate..

That is about all you need. I broke both rear shocks in a bad crash.. but not to many do that. Shock Shafts is another thing you might think about picking up.

The Evo2 is one of, if not the most durable car on the market. In the past 6 months of racing and practicing every single week, I have never broken anything on the car except for the front bumper brace. I have been in some spectacular accidents and my car has always came through without a scratch.

The only time I ever actually broke something on the car was when the rear shock tower snapped, and this was due to a 275 pound turn marshall stepping on my car at an FSEARA state race . I was surprised that I only suffered a cracked shock tower and nothing else broke, it was amazing. If it were a TC3 or another car, there is no doubt in my mind that the car would have shattered!

If you're buying an XRay, then the Evo2 is the only way to go.

The rear Evo2 shock tower may be a weak point if the car is hit or lands at the proper angle.
