I'm sure it depends on the model. Which one are you looking at?

The TC spec I'm sure has a LIPO cut off, it one of LRPs top ESCs. The Ai I'm not sure about. It says it's lipo compatable, so I'd say it's a safe bet to say it has a cut off as well.

They do, but they aren't effective at protecting lipos.

Do you know why? I have the same problem with my SXX TC Spec, eversince I m using it my LiPo swells, I m suspecting the esc did not cut it off, my car just slows down to a crawl but the esc did not cut it off. I posted this q on SXX thread and yet to get a reply from that guy Burito (LRP).

There are only two possibilities:
1. The internal code compares voltage to a cutoff voltage setpoint that is too low.
2. When it sees the voltage below the cutoff voltage setpoint, it doesn't actually cut off throttle in a way that the driver notices.

I think you are right, the other day i put my Lipo on my charger after my run and I see it read 5.75V. On my other esc I set the cut off at 3.2v per cell. I ve been told the SXX would cut off around 6v region but in reality it goes well below it. Anyhow performance wise the SXX is very good. For precautionary I just don't run my car beyond 5 mins right know, be it continuous or have a stop during the run.
