Wow... I was running 56mm tires and geared 34/96 int he club race and I turned 25 5:03. Wonder how fast I could have gone if I geared up a little
Must have been my packs making me a rocket down the straight.

My rear wheels are eating into the lower shock mount on my TC3. I'm running Jayco double purples on the rear and seem to have plenty of clearance. There doesn't seem to be any excessive play in the wheel bearings or anything. Seems like the wheels are really flexing in the corners. Is there a stronger wheel/tire that I can buy that is similar in traction to the Jayco? Car is a team car which is a little on the heavy side.
Suggestions????

I currently use TRC Purple 30mm rears and Plaid 28mm fronts with no binding or rubbing. Hmmm.

What is the width of the wheel? Are you running 28mm? 30mm?

The wheels are 28mm. I have been seeing marks on the inside edge of the wheels but couldn't find where they were rubbing. Last weekend I ran with the 19 turn guys and the wheel really wore into the shock pivot. Maybe I need to buy some TRC tires/wheels. Maybe they are stronger.

Proficar403: Arun, i was glad to see you do so well for your first big race. The jitters go away man! As far as your screw coming loose, i think i would have to give that screw a slow death by rust "execution"... or at least beat it flat with a hammer and use it as weight for next year!! Its always the simple crap that gets us!

Dave, you must make it to our next big race, which will be the Serpent/Xray on road challenge sometime in April (on asphalt...The rug has another month or so left.) Ralph Burch and Josh Cyrul are scheduled to attend! You have to give that tc3 a workout...if not for the dye stripping "event," your car would never have "broken in." Plus, you can use up some more of those tires.

looks like the wheel came loose and rubbed it. I run 30mm rear and don't have any rub. but I have seen it when a wheel nut comes loose.

Try 38/96! You could cook a steak on that thing, even after waiting to marshall ! Some even ran a 39!

. I had some rip too in the infield. I got hammered in that hard left hand turn at the start and broke a ballcup. I think I went from 8th to 4th by the time we got to the start finish line at the tone. After the race brushes were Purple and the Negative was unsoldered and the Negative Wire was barly hanging on to the endbell .For most of my runs I was geared 35 or 36 / 96

I wondered about that but all the wheel nuts were tight. I use the Trinity nuts and locktite them every run. Suppose the small Trinity nuts are letting the center hub flex?

which wheel nuts are you using???? 8-32 lock nuts? or the flat purple ones?

I think they are steel. Take a 7/32 socket. Pinch thread type, not the ny-lock aluminum ones.
