rcpilot,
As far as the diffs go try the following:
1. Composit out drives remove the thin shim on the left side of the diff.
2. Try to space the input shaft so that there is play between the diff gear the input shaft gear. Much like there is play between the spur and pinion gear.
3. Ignore the book and use the spacers to get the smoothest mesh. This may mean to add or reduce the shims on the input shafts.
4. Look at the cases carefully. The diff bearing should be able to drop in the case and be removed without the bearing snaping into place. A good test is put the diff together and place it in the case. Place the top case on and then remove. If the bearing comes out or stays in the top case you need to sand the edges wear the bearing fits in. Keep doing this until the bearing drops out. (Don't over do it though)
5. I recommed not put any extra grease on the diff gear and input gear. This will only slow it down.
6. Remove the shields and degrease the bearing (I only recommed this for the input shafts and diff bearings) then oil it lightly. Do not replace the shields on the diff bearings and only replace one side of the input shaft bearings.
Hope this helps,
Mark

Well, big news. I just put my two weeks notice in at my job. 13 year career ended at Verizon SuperPages. What will I be doing??? Where will I be going???
Team Associated.
Yup, they approached me with a job opportunity and, well, I accepted. Yes, scary. Yes, butterflies. NEVER thought I'd leave my comfortable, well paying job. But, AE threw an offer on the table that was hard to pass up....AND, I be working with something I truly love.
So, 2 weeks from today I'll be at AE! Man, what change this is gonna be...

Thanks everyone....
Nah, still at HP. Good to see all the new product EVERYONE has coming in....might spur some ideas...
I'll be in R&D, Product Development, working with the web site some on some new ideas, test-building the kits and manuals, and helping the team at bigger races (some travel time, baby!!!!) Might mean some trips to World events.... Can someone say Japan!!!!
Dream. Ya, pretty much. I feel extremely lucky that I'm getting this opportunity. And I can't wait to contribute to one of the best (if not THE best) R/C companies around. AE has always taken good care of my as a driver. Just a great company.
