Hello,

I have few questions about the setup of the BD5 on carpet.

Most driver are using HPI Pink or gold in front and HPI Silver in the rear.
Do they give a better feeling compare to the Yokomo Pink for the front and Yokomo Blue for the rear?

The origin piston's holes in the shocks are 1mm. Everybody running 1.1mm piston's holes. Are they an option or are you drilling them?
In term of felling what does the 0.1mm difference make?

What is the feeling difference is there between the standard center link and the 8mm type?

With the new stock software are you using different chassis setup for Stock (10.5T or 13.5T) and modified motors?

Does anyone have a base setup for stock on carpet?

i did post my Femca carpet setup back of few pages , it's work great for stock and mod. I only use Hpi spring so i cant comment much on the yokomo spring....

i drill my piston to 1.1mm...i feel the shock have faster movement and feel better...

8mm did give u little more aggressive steering and tighter turn in corners.

Nowadays, stock(11.5t/10.5) and modified have similar of power. i think there are nothing much changes in setup for me....

well, this is my own opinion...i hope others can share theirs aswell

Hi, have the shocks been upgraded since the original BD? I am looking at getting a set of the white springs and noted that they are classed as 'long' to fit the BD5 'sss' shocks.

Will these fit the original BD/SD shocks or are they shorter than the current shocks?

Yokomosprings are very progressi ve this is why they are better suited for asphalt racing where they give a lot of steering an traction

for carpet you want the car to be totally smooth, this is why you use hpi springs (pink / silver 99% of times)

1.1mm simply always. there are some things in rc business that are simply better in any car and this is one of them.

the "8" plate makes the car more aggressive and therefore less easy to drive. it's not much. just like if you'd run 5% less expo.
But sometimes exactly this "touch" can make you really fast

there is no reason to change the setup whatsoever betweeen stock and modified.

I am umming, ahhing, and pondering on a BD5W. My main temptation is that Yokomo don't keep updating and changing their kit every year. In fact the BD was out for 5 years, and all the grainger parts were retrofitable or spares.

My question is this. How robust is the car? I have had a cyclone - which was pretty good, a shumacher mi4lp (hated the car) - but still fairly robust, I bought an Xray 008 second hand as a stop gap - also pretty robust as well.

What parts are brittle on this car?

Do any bd parts fit such as arms, c hubs etc?

is the worlds the same as the bd5 save for new chassis
