Default turbo vs. non turbo heads

I've heard lots of different things but what is the advantage of runing a turbo head button?

Turbo head/glowplug offer a little more power, but a peaker powerband. Standard button/glowplug are gernally a lower power output, but broader powerband. On some motors, the Turbo button combustion chamber is a bit smaller, so it will have a smidge more compression wih the same shimming. As for feeling the difference, it would have to be a race type motor and tuned properly, otherwise, most may not notice anything. Fuel also will affect the power output.

The biggest difference I have noticed once I switched was that Turbo plugs are twice the price, but last 4 times longer..I do not notice the engine to be any smoother, or more powerful, my top and bottom are about the same, my fuel consumption has not changed much...It is really nice to go up to 2 gallons of fuel on the same plug..and not have to fumble around to change one at the track, with your cooling head all full of dirt.

You must run a turbo plug in a turbo head engine. The O.S. P3 is popular for the GO engines.

On the PK5 run a cold standard plug like the McCoy MC-9

If I'm not mistaken, GO engine buttons as based off the O.S. turbo glowplug taper. GO just released their own glowplugs now from what I saw on Neo Buggy though.

xtreme rc did a dyno test and noted about a 7% increase in power with a turbo plug over a standard plug.

But is there any difference in the combustion chamber volume as this will affect the power out put! The only way to get an accurate comparison between turbo and standard plugs is to ensure that the combustion chamber is the same shape and volume.... From my experience, a turbo plug will last more than twice as long as a standard plug in a well tuned engine.

I run a modded 5 port GO and yes the OS P3 is a great plug for it. But they are like $11 $12, OD 77t and 97t are $5.50 so I just bought 2 of each of the OD plugs. I just hope they last as long as the OS. I am under the impression that there is NO gain what so ever between turbo and standard, but before that I thought turbo heads made more power. But Mark from Powerhouse Mods says there is no gain, and if anyone knows he does.
