You can use a clutch shim on the pinion to give it deeper mesh on the ring gear, but the best is to use 8x10 axle shims behind the flange bearing. It is a pain to add shims to adjust the mesh, because you have to disassemble the entire diff each time. My 8-T was eating ring and pinion sets for lunch before I added the shims. I tried new r/p, diff case, bearing, inserts and all. The extra shimming is the only thing that helped.

Yes,it will make your problem go away,in fact some guys are using the
old cases at the rear,where the old cases were not stripped easily....
