The majority of the cars use a side by side configuration so this is why we did the pack this way. It also allows us to achieve a higher mAH and C rate. Those who still use a T-Plate car will most likely have to switch to a side by side car as I don't think making a one cell saddle Lipo is feasible.

Finally. If this works I will be running 12th all the time now.
I bet it will get some good runtime too with such a high mah rating.

WOW...all I've been holding back from getting into 1/12th was the NiMh's as I didn't want to go down that road again. I'll be watching the progress on these closely. SMC will have a new convert here as soon as I can get my hands on a "top wire" 5000 pack, saddle packs, and now this. Orion has treated me well but I am soon to be converted!

"Pitching a tent!" I just dumped my can of jack the gripper on my crotch! LOL Im horney for lipo!

What size nihm RX pack would be needed to run a typical race nite without having to recharge it? Man Lipo savoiur but we still gotta depend on nihm! CRAP. Would a 2/3a 1400mah pack last an evening of 3quals and 1 main?

i currently run SMC 4000 lipos in my RDX PHI and love them, i can only imagine what they could do in an oval car.

Just get a small lipo receiver pack.

This pack will be good for oval if speeds need to be slower than the current 7.4 Lipo 21.5 class. I'm pretty sure that 13.5 or 10.5 with a single cell will give decent speeds. We already have an oval racer testing a single cell Lipo.

Were releasing a 7.4/350mAh pack for foamy airplanes which would work good for a reciever pack at roughly 20 grams. Runtime should be in the 30 minute range with a 350 pack.

I understand, that's why I said someone needs to make a kit so it will fit above the t-plate but below the shock. I'm in the process of switching back to a t-plate car as I prefer how they drive, having to run a link car just so I can run the battery would be annoying.

I wonder if the battery could fit up one side with electronics on the other side? Must need to find a way to keep it in the car I guess.

I wonder if this pack would make more sense in a Pro10 class? The class itself is off to sort of a fresh start, while everyone is still green and settling into rules, this may make a reasonable consideration.

I'll take two!

I think a T-plat could be made. If weight rules are to stay the same the tplate bridge mount could be weighted and since the lipo is so thin the CG would not be raised too too much, if the mount holds its weight down low..

Im not a 12th guru so i have no idea what weight is required to keep the cars driving properly. i would suspect that at some point a car can be too light.. and not handle right

I can think of one
Bad enough that the equalizing brushless has meant $80 motors and $30 rotors for tuning, to tune you need a 200+ qauss meter. end result no different than what everyone complained about brushed with, other than add in the ESC of the month and if you get a dud motor it's another 80 to try again.
Now were talking different voltage 4-cell replacements, new servos and Rx perhaps...or lipo Rx packs, maybe a new motor too.

I applaud the attempt to evolve but why can't a 4.8v cell be made and at least keep that the same

Or you could just buy a motor and run it without worrying about getting that slight speed advantage.
