NTC3 NUT: Hey man I'm relaxed, just don't understand why people won't admit all the probs. the car has. I like to go out and play hard and when I do go out I like a good stable, dependable car. I have worked and worked on the car to make it that way. I refuse to use stock engines and that may be most my troubles, the Richey power just eats the diff gears. Either they strip or the center of the ring gear melts down.
I'm sure someone will be selling the Delrin gears shortly, but that may still not be the ticket, I think it needs some type of sealed oil diffs. to, so maybe Ofna is on too somethings there.
For you guys interested in the alum diff cases that are sneaking around, They are so so, they seem to hold more heat, which is no, no, the case halves don't fit together real good so alittle work on the mating surfaces has to be done. An for you guys that like to watch the cars weight, the both of the alum diffs will add about 1 and 1/4 oz's to the car. The good point with the cases is alitte lock tite and the shock tower problems are solved.

I like mine alot. Easy to work on and freeeeee.
I have not really had any issues at all with it. I did do the Tank mod, and Put some Steel inserts in the Gear case. Flawless since. I have run 30 min mains only to have a bent hing pin. But that would be cause i hit something. No gears issues. I also run a Mod mill. Not slow at all.

No car is perfect. But I like it.

I never said there were no probs with the car, either. Just like any other car, certain things can be done to it so that it won't break.

Another thing I've done to mine is I made a baffle that goes in between the head and carb and up to the roof of the body, to keep the heat out of the intake. I never liked the way the air coming in the windshield goes over the exhaust, thru the head and is then sucked into the carb. I elongate the hole in the rear window so that it's open over the carb.

I ran a MTx2 before the NTC3, and spent much more on it replacing bearings that smashed hitting boards, than I have on the ASC car. Any car has it's drawbacks.

Red 5: Do you race with Lee from Winner Circle Hobbies? I spoke with him and order some Serpent parts last week he also spoke about you guys making the baffle deal , cool. Also do you race at the Sugar Bowl? I made a adapter and ran the filter as far to the right side of the car as possible. I use the center exhaust deal now so I have moved it to the left side as far as I can, its not as good there but it works.

just to update every body on the RD logics diff casses.
i have tested the diff cases with great results the shock
tower stays truer. you might have to reshim youre gears.
ive tested the car for 1 hour straight at our local track with
no gear failure.

benifits rigid suspension support for the tower giving better
suspension consistency not just to the shock tower but
also the rigity from the diff cases connection to the chasis

this does add weight but nothing significant
and the benifits are so great compared to the added weight

(just curious how many would be interested in lower
hinge pin blocks with different heights to alter roll center.)

I heard that an AE driver was seen testing a new rear suspension
set up for the tc3 similar to the yokomo 3 pillow ball design.
has anyone sean it.
