The RTR version has a "stamped" 6061 chassis...the Pro version has a machined 6061 chassis....the Tangerine has a machined 7075 chassis.....all the chassis look different.

I some ways the RTR chassis looks better than the pro chassis becaise it has curved sides....but it is the heaviest.....

Difficult to say because I never built my Pro kit out of the box, I bought all the options when I got the kit. The Tangerine is around 50g lighter than by Pro right now....but there are quite a lot of variables between them. The Tangerine will still come in slightly overweight at 17xxg all up. Can't remember the exact numbers.....

Maybe it has been updated to the 3mm 6016 chassis, does it have "LD3" machined in the bottom of it?

HN Pro chassis:

and the 7075 chassis:

Not necessarily....RTR's in general, are made with "lower quality" materials.Mainly because most wont see actual racing conditions.

Yes it does have the ld3 machined into the bottom As far as I know that is the Ofna Pro chassis. Did you get an ofna pro that didn't have that chassis? If so I think it may have been a mistake.

A bit of a misunderstanding here. I didn't think it was "weird" that they were different, I was just replying to Nightmares post that the pro and rtr had the same chassis

They must of changed it or they dont know what they are selling as I inquired before about a "mistake" on their webpage listing the OFNA LD3 pro having a 2.7mm chassis. They said the 2.7mm was correct...

HN site lists the STD at 2.7mm, PRO as 3mm

According to what I have read in several forums, website, etc....
this is the rundown on chassis for the many different LD3 offerings...

U.S RTR versions have a stamped 6061 Aluminum 2.7 mm
U.S Pro versions have a Hardened??? 6061 CNC 2.7 mm
Taiwan-Overseas Pro versions have the same Hardened chassis, only it is 3 mm
Champ Taiwan has the Tangerine 7075 3 mm chassis

hmmmm.... not sure but I did read an article in RC Driver Jan. 2004, they did a review on the ofna ld3 pro and it did have the chassis with "LD-3" Stamped into it. I think you got the wrong chassis with your ofna pro kit

i think its better that you get the pro kit instead! and make your ld3 standard a spare parts kit. it might be cheaper. send rc-mushroom an email and ask them to give you the price list of all the LD3 parts they offer. they sent me one when i inquired about a month ago. goodluck!
