You could also try dropping your ramp
rate to 2 then do the recalerbrate thing
rate to 2 then do the recalerbrate thing
Guys, the 3.0 ramp rate is really not the answer most of the time in TC. That can cause some serious motor temps and cause the motor to become doggy in the middle of the run.
Those of you that say your turbo fades are the ones that need to work on your setups a bit. This "fade" is not in the speedo but is coming from the motor not tolerating the high timing settings.
Jason's setup works because his start rpm is higher than most. He's got a setup that has turbo first, timing boost second. That's what makes it work.
If you run 0 delay get your start rpm's up around 5k or more.

Hi All
I'm new to the Tekin RS and have had a brief read through this forum to try to get a good starting setup for my TRF 416x running a 10.5 Speed Passion V3 motor indoors on Carpet using rubber tyres btu have stuggled even with a search.
I have the 203 software loaded but i need a place to start please with both settings for the speedo, motor timing and for gearing (previously I'd been running an SXX TC Spec at 6.9 FDR if this helps)
The size of track is about 60m by 20m with the straight being the full 60m and a flowing infield.
I really would appreciate any help as I don't want to cook a motor with the boost/turbo functions which I am not used to
Thanks in advance
Paul

On some tracks the start RPM must bu much higher.
I tried today the setup with the Speedpassion V3 13,5T and the motor was fast. I used a start RPM of 9000 and a End RPM of 12000. When I lowered the start RPM my motor got hotter and didn't go any faster.
Later I changed to the Tekin motor and this one stays in
I tried the V3 with 0 to 10 timing and the Tekin motor was smoother. Speed was the same but the Tekin motor is easier to set right. I got a very nice acceleration from start to top speed.
Also did I change from 10 Turbo to 0 Turbo.
I lowered the motor timing to 5 and set the gearing to 6,1FDR.
Boost max Turbo 0
Start RM 3600 End RPM 7000.
Motor temp got 160F to 170F
I tried also 0 motor timing but our straight is a bit to large.
Next time I try a bit more moor timing and to gear to 6,5 and even 7FDR.
I set the fastest lap time of this year on the outdoor track.
Even the pan car driver that is normally faster than me was now slower. He didn't keep up with me and he was impressed of the power.
I showed him the power with an extra 10 Turbo and he was like WOW.
I tested 7 mints runs because our races are 7mints and my first and last lap were about the same. I didn't lose power.
The Speedpassion motor is with 10 timing as fast as the Tekin motor but I found the Tekin motor much smoother.
It just drives better and I saw it in the lap times. I had to use more timing with the Speedpassion motor to get the same speed as the Tekin motor.
The Tekin motor runs very good on a lower timing and a lighter gearing. I was geared 5,5FDR with he V3.
Turbo ramp of 3 is way to much. You get overkill. It accelerates as you use it as extra top speed way to much.
Ad the start it can be used but than set the start RPM ad least 2000 higher than with a Turbo ramp of 2 or gear lighter.
As you set your RPM range right you have enough power and you don't need a Turbo ramp of 3.
I started with Turbo delay on 0 but I found that the setup without the Turbo goes better. I play with the RPM range and this way I get the right acceleration and top speed.

Timing Boost 40
Turbo Boost 10
delay 0
Ramp 2
5 degree timing on the 17.5 motor, I geared at 6.7

is it common to run the lrpx12 with negitive 10 timming(4dot) on it when running the tekin in v200.
i think the duo2 also like neg.timming on v200. can anyone help.

As I understand it, the 4 dot is not neg timing, it is the closest setting to -0- timing, which is somewhat standard for 1S, not so much for 2S where a little endbell timing can be useful.

the manual says 4 dot=neg10
