OK I'm having a not so smart moment. When using the track power saddle lipo, are you only using one cell or both cells side by side? Basically I guess what I am getting at is if I purchased the saddle pack would I then have two packs for this car? Please excuse the lack of brain function on my part, it's been a long day.

both cells side by side. they are wired together in the standard saddle configuration. There just isnt anything in between the saddles, like a drive train you'd see on 4wd offroad.

We recently were informed that the trakpower saddle pack is extremely tall at 30mm. We have now mounted the maxamps 4000 mah saddlepack in the car and it is a perfect fit. We run the full pack(both saddles) pushed together and either double side taped down or put in our weighted tray(optimum weight distribution). Let me know if i confused you at all and i will explain more.

Does anybody make a hardcase saddle lipo that would fit in this car as well as the Max amp pack? The track I run at will only allow hardcase lipo and I really don't want to buy Nimh cells just for this car.

TIA

The 4000 mah max amps pack fits great as do the all brands of stick pack lipos. We have made sure that the max amps saddle pack fits perfectly as will any saddle pack that does not exceed 22mm in height. I find it very odd that trak power went with 30mm. Oh well, there is no set shape or size determined for any of the classes so we will all have to make due with whats available. In time, shapes, sizes and capacity will all become a standard with lipo. Until then we will all keep playing the guessing game. We still are offewring the most flexible range of battery options and configurations that are available. All of the stick packs will fit and most with no mods at all. Any pack that is 22mm or less in thickness will fit with absolutely no modifications. The car will perform at its best with a saddle pack that will fit. This is why i bought the max amps. It handles identicle to the way it did with a 4 cell.
I thought about that pack but then remembered this.

Any saddle pack that is 22mm high will fit. You can run any hard case lipo stick pack if you like also. The trakpower packs will fit just fine. The saddle pack that trakpower makes is too high. they are 30mm

Default Lipo Tray

Hi Jason,

What are runtimes like using the Maxamps 4000 mah Lipo pack?

Will you be offering the Lipo tray soon?

Very interested in getting one of these for fun, so long runtimes would be great!

Thanks guys. I guess for now my option for the moment is to use my stick lipos until someone makes a shorter saddle pack.

Hey Jason, need some help with tires. Be running on fairly smooth asphalt, what do you recommend? How about concrete also. Just thought of something else about lipo's. Maxamps saddle packs seem to fit okay but what about after putting on the shrink wrapped skins. Will it still fit.

The maxamp lipo with skins fit just right. Without the skins it has some space. I didnt use the skins so i 2 sided taped the pack in. Pack works great. Now im using the weighted tray and i no longer need to 2 sided tape the pack in.

I would start with 2x pink front and rear on both surfaces.
