Can a 1150g FWD USGT setup car compete against a 1450g 4WD USGT setup car with other things being equal (driver skill, well setup car, equal electronics) on carpet?

Looking to try one for the winter indoor season.

Hi BoneCrusher
how are you?
answer is yes and no
On the high speed flowing track yes the FF can win or will keep up with the 4wd
I ran my FF03 against the scale spec with no problem.
when is come to around the corner ,The 4wd can be very aggressive into the corner than Front wheel car ,but again FF has the top end speed

you have to watch out for the 4wd in the main,,get hit from behind can cause you to spin out quickly than 4wd TC

Front wheel always fun to drive

Thanks for the insight Franko!

Thinking about trying the MTS FFV2 car for our basically USGT class up here in Western Canada. http://www.race-opt.com

Looking for something different this coming winter season. Tried a few laps on Pat from Edmonton's MTS FFV1 and it kinda drives like a Mini. Just bigger. I think it has potential.

Last season ran the class with an almost box stock TT01. Was pretty fun dealing with massive torque steer and lack of corner speed. At least 0.1-0.2sec consistency but still a lap or so from fast guys.

Looking forward to trying USGT with a lightweight FWD!

Why don't go for a Protoform Mazda 6?

FWD bodies need to be realistic (should really be Tamiya level realistic imo), just like we should never run dish wheels in the FWD class.
If you want to run non-identifiable aero bodies, there are many TC classes

I like the Scirocco and have run it for the past few years. Need to test the Civic WTCC.
