I would give a try to the OS engine, but i am not really sure if it performs
as good as my Mega DS2+. And for me this is the min. power I need, to go with
the other drivers in my local races.
I think I cant compare it to a Novarossi Plus or something similar, but the good price makes this engine so interesting
OliverT, I don’t know much it will cost you for O.S. VZ-R but I suggest you to save up a little bit more and get a better engine.

1 of the problem with VZ-R is connecting rod doesn’t have an oil hole.
Engine is now discontinued but some hobby shops may still have them in stock. The distributor down here doesn’t have this engine anymore.
How easy for you to access spare parts for local hobby shops?

If you want to get this engine just for to have fun in car park, that’s fine nothing wrong with VZ-R but if you want to be competitive on the race track you have to think twice.

All above are just my opinions.

I own one and the hole for oiling the rod is on the crank as is on the v-spec as well and works just fine.
As for OS recommending 18%oil...USE max 12%...I've been running my v-spec and vz-r II for more than a year now with fuel that has 10% oil and i had no problems at all.

Not the best on runtime.
Depends on the tuned pipe of course so i would say between 6-7.5 mins for 1/8 on road.

Picco p9-r seems a better choice if it's on the same price range.
