Sorry to change the subject back to the actual EP4600 batteries but I will...
So far they are definately better than the EP4200 they replace (yes replace) in both runtime and average voltage. IR is the same as the old EP4200 cells - after zapping IR is mostly between 1.5 and 1.7 with a small percentage going over that.
Runtime is averaging very close to 470 seconds at 35 amp discharge. That equals about 4570 Mahr capacity - not quite 4600 capacity but pretty close - ON AVERAGE. On either end of the runtime scale I have about 8% of the cells exceeding 480 seconds of runtime (about 4666+ Mahr capacity) and about 9% of the cells falling under 460 seconds runtime (about 4470 Mahr or less). Average voltage is a little better that the 4200 cells with most cells easily exceeding 1.230+ volts and maybe 10% to 15% actually hitting 1.240+ volts. Out of 200 cells graded so far none have vented while charging at 6 amps and these were all cycled 2 times. I had one cell drop to 0 volts after a cycle and not recover on it's own - it is considered defective now of course. Out of the first 200 cells I have 26 cells in the "dud" pile - Cells that would not make 450+ seconds of runtime or that were not 1.230 volts or better plus the one cell that went to 0 volts. That is not so bad actually. These will make good stick packs plus a few paper weights.
All cells were zapped before doing anything else. First cycle was generally a little weak with the cells improving significantly on the second cycle. I tried cycling a small batch of cells 3 times and there was small but noticeable improvement in overall cell performance but it is not really worth the time to cycle several hundred cells 3 times.
Overall I will say I am happy with the cells although I believe they should have been labeled as 4500 Mah cells instead of 4600 Mah based upon what I have seen so far. I believe the cells will prove to be reliable as were the previous 4200 cells. Don't expect to see consistent 1.240+ volt cells though like the IB cells advertise - (I have to trust the labels I have seen as I haven't matched those personally).
I hope this is useful info to those hoping to find it. I have no bias and pride myself on being honest. I am selling these cells but will not lie and give them a glowing report they don't deserve in the hopes somebody will buy a pack from me instead of somebody else.

Well, there is some variance from cell to cell and the cells aren't perfectly round or linear in diameter from top to bottom but.... 4200s seem to be pretty close to 22.8 mm and 4600s seem to be close to 22.9 mm.
BTW, a 4200 weighs just over 70 grams and a 4600 is about 72 grams per cell...

So how have people been maintaing these EP cells? Are they touchy like the IB's? I remember EA saying IB's dont like to tray below .7 or so. Can you go farther down with EP's? like .5 or so?
Charging amps.. 6? 7? 8? Kaboom if more?
Storage? have to put 1000mah into them for storage like IB's? IB's like to self discharge some....
about about discharging a pack after it's last use for the day down to 6.0 volts or 1.0volt per cell, then next week, tray to .7 from there?

Why do people always want to tray the cells down to 0.7 if it has no benefit for the modern cell. Accept that the cells do not like it and do not perform any better for it. Simply update your mind on how to maintain your cells. It has been explained numerous times on the forums
