Kyosho Ultima RB5 Technical Thread
Since I've been throught 37 pages of the RB5 thread, I decided to start this one to discuss technical issues with this specific car.
Here are my questions to start with:
Where do you get those cool gold wheel nuts?
Has anyone had any problems with the Associated slipper/spur?
What do those variable heigth rear hubs do?
Where can you buy spare wings?
Any help with my questions would be appreciated. I ran mine for the first time today. Switching from the b4, I ran one second faster lap times with the kit setup. I'm highly impressed with this car.

- A lot of aftermarket companies make gold nuts. edit-rc.com comes to mind.
- I tried the AE slipper pads and spur with no problems at all
- Hub wise, not sure, but I assume they are option holes for smooth high traction surfaces. Don't have any around me.

So when you move those 3 holes around, how does it affect the geometry? Do you get more camber as the suspension compresses?

I am using this wing from JConcepts, its a little thicker then the kit one so hopefully it'll last longer.

Kyosho makes them in blue and red

The holes in the hub allow you to change the roll center of the car and this change also effects how he dog bone plunges into the outdrive and is effects dog bone angles as well.
In general Raising the hub will increase on power traction, decrease traction when breaking. It will also help in rutted conditions. I have not raised my hubs yet but I going to try it at my next club race. The car has worked really well with the hubs low so far so I have not changed that yet.
You should be able to get wings anywhere Kyosho parts are sold.
