I don't recall an Orange seal coming with the pipe, are you sure it is a skyline pipe? regarding ripping of the seal = make sure your exhaust system is aligned properly before securing it on the mount. that is the main reason the seal gets ripped when securing the pipe on the mount without aligning it properly.

Thanks Kamikaze, I did notice some pressure had to be made in putting the pipe on the the wire mount, I may have to bend the wire out a little to allow for the pipe to lineup. Will try it today ...

I did not have any success with using the Skyline pipe with LRP spec 3 engine. It has no low end. I would use the Mega 2607 pipe with the LRP spec 3. It rocks. I love the skyline pipe; but I think it works better with Novarosssi based engines rather than Picco based engines. The Mega pipe 2607 is somewhat hard to find

I found just the opposite on my Mega DSII
It ran better with teh Skyline than with the 2607.

Wow thats crazy. when I switched pipes from the Skyline to the Mega the only
other change I made was to make the pressure line from the pipe to the tank about 4 inches longer. This helped my tune from a full tank to mid tank. but my engine came alive after these changes. The other problem I had is the header on the Skyline pipe is a little too big for the exhaust port on the LRP engine; so I was forced to use the special gasket from LRP. but if you look at the lengths of both pipes including the header the mega pipe is totally different. The other concern I have it seems that the Mega pipe hangs a little more out in no-mans land when mounted on the car.

Hmmm... If you need that much more bottom end, maybe you should rethink your gearing strategy.

I like the Mega 2607 for bottom, mid and top. I believe the mega pipe is better suited for picco based 12 engines that belong to the ZX.12 family. But if need alot of bottom end I would also think about gearing and clutch adjustment.

yes like what Rainer said, gearing and clutch adjustment play a big role..you might wanna try using harder clutch shoe and spring it'll give you more bottom....VR12 has very smooth power band and great run time, so far i've ran it with my JL, OS and Nova based engines with no problem.
