Hey guys,

After reviewing the DM-1 I got it to run for awhile.

I'm thinking of buiding it up as a dirt oval car. We'll see how it goes.

I'm having a problem with the the front diff. I'm building the car now.
I put 100,000 weight diff oil in it already.

The ring gear does not sit squarely on the diff housing. Therefore, causing ring and pinion binding. It spins 3/4 of the way then binds, and won't spin. What do I do?

update: I think the gear is warped. I used the other one and its fine. I'll just need a replacement gear.

Default Brushless....DM-1

whoa, thread has been soooo idle????????

has anyone tried using Brushless power on this DM-1.

it would be a lot more fun (faster), since it handles pretty well.

anyone?

RClab1....
Brushless DM-1 has been done with 2 speed. Here you can find a video and pics of the conversion.

Here is the link to the discussion on the Brushless Dm-1

Hope that helps. Guess nobody is having issues with the DM-1, could be a good sign.....

Default RTR or Pro Kit? whats the difference between the just the car?

I know the RTR is ready to run, but what is difference between the cars only?

if I buy the Pro Kit, its seems that its already assembled? or is it really a full blown kit? It would be better if it was a rolling chassis, it would save me time.

do you have anymore vids of the brushless version, seems like the vid you posted up above, the guy didn't really have much room to open 'er' up

so in the end, how much do you think it will cost to get me going brushless?

have you done the conversion? anyone?

If you are on a time crunch then go RTR, but sometime the fun is also build the car the way you want at your own pace. I only know of one Video of the brushless DM-1, I have not done the conversion, but expect it to run you about $800 up to $2000, it all depends on type of equipment.

Read up and ask questions on this thread, its the 1/8 electric buggy conversion thread. Those guys are more into the brushless conversion then I am.

Between the two links I posted here you should have no problem getting a brushless conversion for the DM-1.

Default make it brushless

fourStrokeFan, make it Brushless!!!!! please....its quieter and faster!

I still believe, in my opinion, Brushless would be a hotter(in a great way) set up.....Literally.

Twin 4 strokers.... I would love to just have a single 4 stroker in a DM-1. Check out HPI and Mugen also use 1.0 mod pitch gears. When you refer to .56 are you refering to the plane fs-56a? What custom parts do you have to make to mount one 4 stroke engine in the DM-1?

Default thanks

thanks vad for the info i will check them out. I have 2 os 91's I think they are too big. so i have two os 52's comming from e bay. I understand by looking on tower hobbies web site the 52 is discontinued. Now they offer a 56. I havent checked yet but the mounting pattern should be close. I will probably start with the 52's then upgrade to the new 56's after i work out the bugs in the design.

viva la four stroke!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you planning on modifying the .52's with the camshaft and springs from the FS40S-C to increase power and revs?

Getting a Dm-One Pro kit next week. I am thinking of a NovaRossi N528XRR
Modified. Anyone have any feedback on why this may be good or bad. If good, any pipe suggestions. Thanks
