I hope MacDonalds has a special on Happy Meals that weekend.

Ron Garrant, a MidWest Series competitor from the early 90s is making a return to 8th Scale this weekend in Hamilton. Ron ran with Brad Makaric from Windsor.

Thanks to all of you for coming out today and supporting our season opener. 19 racers were registered in 1/8 Open with a number of familiar faces hanging around without their existing and/or new 1/8 scale rides. Tally them up and we could have had 25 1/8 cars in action today.

Some great finishes for a few and a bit of frustration for others. That's racing dudes, don't let the gremlins get under your skin and dampen the day. There's always the next race day to get a good one in.

Lou Vanderwey takes top honours with his new Serpent 960-08.

I should also add that we had a successful debut of the electric open class today. Look at some of those laptimes! That's 8th scale territory on the full size track; who knew? Hopefully this class maintains its popularity and continues to grow following the Reedy Race in May.

My apology to those who went without replacement parts due to the absent SRC parts transporter. The white oil burner will be back in 2 weeks.

Gary,
Is the entry fee for your Can-Am race really $50.00? With the price of gasoline continuing to climb, and it will throughout the summer, it’s expensive enough to get to these out of town races. For a 2-day event it just seems a little high. A MWS 2 day race is only $25.00 and $15.00 for second entry.

I would have to agree with Mark! The Great Lakes challenge race is $45.00 with lots of great prizes.

Gary,

I agree with Mark and Eli after I saw the entry fee. $50 is kinda high for a 2-day event. We are not having to pay additional because its RC Pro, are we? Wasn't it $40 last year?
