I have the GTB in my xxx BK2 and yes you NEED to have the fan. Here is what you do. Unscrew the fan and remove the washers then srew it back on. This will make the fan not sit as high. You may need to have the body a tad bit higher on that side but it will definately fit. Your gonna love it. Its super fast in a buggy. Which one did you get?

I have run the GTB 6.5 in a Bk2, a B4 and an Mf2. The only thermal I have had to date was running a short high bite track over geared by ~4 teeth on my pinion gear after 9 minutes of continuous running. This would have been taken care of by cutting a small vent int eh body to allow some air in. I have never run the fan. I think it is only needed in carpet touring car racing.

W/ my B4, I just pulled the 2 outside spacers, and moved over a little bit 2 the inside of the esc. Works fine.
