Indeed, they look great. I've tested a 13.5 @ 20 degrees and it is very fast. The standard rotor is a red 12.3mm rotor which is most likely the reason for the extra revs. A nice feature is the rotor dimensions are engraved on the pinion shaft for quick reference.

Baja-Boy - we have been testing the motors for a while in everything from TC to SC. Been good and fast everywhere. Especially happy with the performance in TC's and on road, the old motor struggled in on road. The BE won its first every TC race, first time out, with and off road driver who never raced TC before.

Found a good way to describe it in another thread -- there are only so many ways to make a ham sandwich - they are all going to look similar in some respect.

The answer to your question cplus is yes, you are correct. It's the same design, same factory, don't understand why that's so difficult to say, instead of trying to play word games. Be proud of that fact nikos2002..."imitation is the highest form of flattery."

I don't think it's imitation. For example we can both walk into BMW together and build a M3 and when we leave have two completely different cars. They are coming from the same builder just with different specs as each company has there own specs they want to use.

Someone please do a motor check on the built in timing please. Or can Viper provide the built in timing for us? Thank you!

My apologies, I did not see the question.

The sensor is zero degrees, so what you adjust on the timing is what you get.

Great first race results with Black Edition motors. 2wd and 4wd Modified Buggy Podium finishes at Mid West Winter Champs, 2wd 17.5 Buggy A Main at Winter Champs. Two Podium finishes at R/C Chilli Bowl on the dirt oval.

Motors are really looking competitive out there!!

Hey all: was just taking a look at these new viper vst "black edition" motors and I hear they are a BIG improvement over the first vst motor line. That said I was wondering if they are designed to work better for 1/10 and 1/12 on road or 1/10 off road racing. Finally why is amain.com offering them ,but they aren't listed on the viper-rc site yet? seems like the viper-rc site news and product info needs to be updated. Thanks
