Although I havenot trid this myself, I was told that you could get the 21 tooth pinion to work.
As far as being legal, depends on what you rules are. For TCS no this would not be legal. For local racing depends on the local rules.

Whether you can or cannot is not the point. Cheating is cheating. Put the damned 20 tooth pinion in and drive the bejeesus out of the Mini. If you have to fudge the rules, what have you proved????? If you feel good about that , well, nuff said.

Don't think anyone was deliberately disparaging you Bob (certainly I wasn't), it's just that there are very few places that will allow you to run anything higher than the standard 20T pinion.

We have the ocassional person here that tries to sneakily get away with it so I will admit to being very keen myself to warn people away from doing it whenever possible.

Sorry Bob, no harm intended. It was meant more in jest - I should've put a at the end. Your mini is insanely fast down the back straight.

that is a scary thought trying to drive a mini at these high speeds,
what did you end up racing with?

White M05 I think has a 25 - 28 pinion gear. Handout brushless motors. Lipos. Very fast.

Well that white Mini is Jilles's M05 at TITC. And Yes Major modification was done to it. He told us. Holes is gearboxs with fan is the most important mod for it as his gears were stripping every test runs.
