Please help.
you need to download the "TS USB link v1.10" first
Then:

1.Connect program box to pc via usb cable.
2.Connect program box to ESC.
3. Lauch TS usb link v1.10 on PC
(in this order or it will not connect)

Look for the "Roar approved" ESC firmware update in the Firmware tab.

Anyone had issues with the brakes? I set my brake to 100% but i could actually feel it only about 20%... Using 3pks radio which has only steering trims set.
Where should I check for problem?

What is your reverse set on ? On most of the ESC I have used reverse power needs to be on 100% to have good braking. Try it and see if that improves your braking.
Good luck

Thanks, let me try this weekend.
Let me confirm, you were updating the 2.06 from Geforce from 1.x first and gradually upgrade by every version to 2.06?

Personally I prefer to activate turbo on full throttle only so i do not need to do the math You still will need to set your boost rpm range though.

What motor and rollout are you running? Maybe we can point you in the right direction with the settings.

Im running the Trackstar 10.5T motor. I have the turbo set to full throttle. I didnt get the program card while ordering from HK and I couldnt justify ordering from them again since I dont need anything else, so I dont what my motor RPM is.

Reading through the discussion on HK, I found the SkyRC USB link works with the trackstar ESC so I found and bought that locally and used that to tune my ESC. Works pretty well.

i successfully updated my esc's firmware to 2.02, thanks so much!
so, my questions are:
after using this TS usb link 1.0 to update my ESC, it is already the latest? compared with Geforce's?
Can the program box's firmware version be upgraded too, say the same as GeForce 2.06?
other than the esc's upgraded, what else can be upgraded(updated?)
can i use the Geforce 2.06 to update me TS program box's firmware?
what are the difference now with mine TS's esc and program box with the Geforece's 2.06
I mixed up and am very sorry that i asked so many stupid questions.
Please kindly advise!

Smile Good starting point

[QUOTE=Dray01;13732160]Hi Guys,

I was not able to find too many details to help with a starting point for this ESC. So I thought I would share my set up. Hope this helps someone.
I was racing against guys with brand name esc motor combos mainly 3.5t. Did not appear to be giving too much away. Finished 2nd. I will tune these more to gain a little more rip. We race on a med/large carpet track.

Gen 2 120 amp
2.02 firmware version
4.0t Trackstar motor second notch on + timing.
35mm roll out

Running mode - Forward/Brake
esc overheat - 125c
motor overheat - disable
reverse speed - 25
voltage cut - 3.0
punch switch point - 50%
1st stage punch - 5
2nd stage punch - 5
th input - line
throttle dead band - 80us
drag brake - 5%
initial brake - drag
brake switch point - 50%
brake strength - 75%
1st stage brake - 10
2nd stage brake - 10
brake input curve - line
boost timing - 25
boost start rpm - 5000
boost end rpm - 18000
boost line slope - line
boost constraint by throttle - no
turbo timing - 24
turbo activation - full th
turbo delay - 0.03
turbo engage slope - 50
turbo deactivate slope 30

Feel free to give some feedback!

Cheers,

Brett

Brett.
This set up is a good starting point, tested it today on my 1/12 with Trackstar 4.0 t motor.(carpet track med. grip, ( 11 sec./ lap)
Get the ESC to be quite agressive, but worst was that after 8 mins. it did cut due to overheat.(120C)
I adjusted boost timing to 12, and start rpm at 22000, turbo timing was also set back to 12.
Still quick but not so agressive, temp went down to about 80Celsius, high but not dangerous, some more testing results from you would be nice.

Hi Gutti,

Sorry to hear you hit thermal.
I have had a bit more time with the combo now and found that lifting the start rpm of boost from 5000 to 12000 or so helped a bit with heat and smoothed it out.
Also the turbo ramp setting. In thinking about it when we have 24 degree of turbo and a ramp rate of 48degree per .1 this is quite fast.
Below is what I have been running recently with no thermal/dumping issues. I have won the last few club days which is great
Running mode - Forward/Brake
esc overheat - 125c
motor overheat - disable
reverse speed - 25
voltage cut - 3.0
punch switch point - 50%
1st stage punch - 15
2nd stage punch - 15
th input - line
throttle dead band - 80us
drag brake - 0%
initial brake - drag
brake switch point - 50%
brake strength - 75%
1st stage brake - 10
2nd stage brake - 10
brake input curve - line
boost timing - 22
boost start rpm - 12000
boost end rpm - 19500
boost line slope - line
boost constraint by throttle - no
turbo timing - 22
turbo activation - full th
turbo delay - 0.07
turbo engage slope - 18
turbo deactivate slope 18

I feel this lets the boost and turbo come on a little smoother while still giving good rip. What timing do you have on the can?

Let us know how you go

Brett

Can timing set to max on the + side!
Do you have any temp readings with this setting?

I played with timing a bit and did not notice much more speed with timing up that high with the settings I run on the ESC. All I found was the motor got much hotter.
I am running timing on the second + notch. I noticed a few others at my track running 20mm fans blowing over the ESC so I also followed suit. It works out quite neat as you can plug the fan into the program card port on the ESC. This will also help with temps.
These settings are what seem to work for me But every car/driver/track is different.
Hope they help.

Thanks Brett.
Will give your setting a go, and also adjust my motor timing as you.
Cooling fan would for sure help, I see a lot of guys using them at our track with both ORCA and Hobbywing ESC`s so its not only a Trackstar sympthom

I have a Trackstar OneCell GenII and the program box. Where do I go to download the firmware?

I am not familiar with the Geforce, sorry. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Here:

At the bottom of the page there's a tab for "files". Click on "TS USB link v1.10"
