I have done this with the box and select blinky mode then ok seems to still have all of the timming and boost available not sure if when i hit ok to mode 2 it does anything

if you've changed the settings on mode 2 at all, then simply set the boost and turbo values to 0. Now you're in blinky mode.

Any mode with boost and turbo set to 0 will be blinky, but on official lists (Roar, BRCA etc) it specifies you must be in mode 2

Hey guys,

I have been noticing a strange power fading at 3/4 of the straightway. Motor comes off at 120F after 3-4 mins of hard racing. Here is some of the info from the top off my head:

ESC: Hobbywing V3 120A
Motor: Trinity D3 10.5 (0 deg line)
Boost: 38
Turbo: 25
Pinion: 33T
Spur: 112T
FDR: 6.45

I'll try to post the full setup when I get home.

Thanks.

That's interesting I'll try that.

I suggest that you contact CRC (the US distributor) for the correct voltage cutoff setting.

Agree with your advise. But there is something definitely wrong. With his setup the car should be ripping already and with a hot motor. Losing breath on the straight with a cold motor tells me its running mild boost but it isn't. Either there is an issue with the sensors, sensor wires or something else..

Try swapping sensor wires first then motor.

I'll try swapping the wires then motor, thanks for your advice!

Reason why I disregarded wires and motor is a friend of mine was running the exact same combo (10.5 D3 / HW V3) with similar boost/timing setting and FDR and was experiencing the same problem. It is almost as if the motor goes blank then recovers for when you brake/release throttle. I wouldn't disregard my motor being bad since it has already a full season on it. But my friend's motor was new.

Any other advice is welcome since I don't want to be clueless on the next race and have to switch to a V2 HW if I cannot figure out what is wrong.

it could also be the battery if it were only your problem. then I'd suggest to try a fresh, out-of-the-box battery. my 3yr old batteries can't feed enough juice to my Xerun, I've experienced that already. but since your buddy has the same problem...who knows, maybe his battery is also out of shape?
